Charlotte

there are a lot of spiders around me this time of year
and there is always at least one who builds her giant web in the worst possible place
at the junction between the gate to the yard and the driveway fence

no one pays attention and will destroy the web just by walking through

so, in my capacity as Den Mother to the Charlotte Club, I step in

I can see the spot from the kitchen window

Sometimes I see the web first

Sometimes I see Charlotte

I go out with my trusty giant piece of cardboard and begin the moving process

This particular Charlotte went all Ninja on me and with the heaviness of the rain droplets I couldn't save the web

So she was relocated to the carport where she could - and did - build a new web

Gotta go, there are worms in the driveway that must be moved back to the lawn

Being a nature lover (and protector) can be time-consuming, but worth the effort. Love the water droplets you captured on the web. Really shows off the amazing and intricate work by the spider. :)

What a fantastic web!! And you captured it perfectly with the raindrops! I love them!! I saw a fantastic one when I was walking Sam the other morning -- and of course, I didn't have my camera!! By the time I got back there, someone had torn it down!! Have a great weekend! Hugs to Hope and to you!!

If only I hadn't been bitten by at least one spider ... and had nightmares where giant ones were chasing me. Though, for the most part, I try to leave things alone. Great photographs though. :)

The water droplets on the web test the tensile strength of it, but produce an awesome look to it all! Your photographs caught it really good!

Your pictures are beautiful and I agree spiders are real artists, but yikes are they ugly !

I don't mind spiders, I think they're "good" insects. What I don't like are roaches and earwigs. Ick!
Very nice shots you've got of the web here. :)

Spiders do have a way of getting in the way, don't they! Love your shots of her house...as temporary as it may be. Thanks for stopping by.

Oh, you are a girl after my own heart.... Unless you save stink bugs or centipedes. That is where I draw the line.

I always wonder how spiders ever find it worthwhile to build those elaborate webs, they must hardly ever catch a fly in the winter....mystery........
