Why The Goose Crossed The Road

Are we going swimming or what?

We're waiting for Murray. Where the hell is he anyway?

Is this what they call the walk of shame?

Oy, I should have just stayed at the creek last night. That last beer killed me.

This kid is a handful
Sammy! You better wait. We're all going together.

I'm waddling as fast as I can

Where's the fire guys? I'm beat.

Uh Murray, look behind you. That gang is back. What did you do last night?

I could watch these guys all day. They're better than Jersey Shore.

Camera Critters: Graceful, Shy, and Unmoved

I passed this small creek and as I drove by I saw a spot of long white neck so I had to go back and check it out.

I got as close as possible to the edge and found ...

As soon as I made a move he started to take off into the reeds ...

Right before I left I noticed his buddy. He'd been sitting there the whole time, totally unmoved by my presense.

As I got back in the car there was a racket coming from far back in the reeds. I assume Mr. Long White Neck was telling everyone else that I was leaving.

I guess I was a bit like the paparazzi to him.

Camera Critters: Standing On The Corner Watching All The Geese Go By

There is a geese crossing in a shopping/office complex near me. The folks who built the complex were very nature friendly. They improved the pond and saved much of the woods surrounding the complex.

When the geese decide to parade from the pond (behind the white fence) across the complex entrance and into the woods a horn sounds and the stoplight turns red immediately. I think there is a motion detector at goose height that sets this all off.

One goose will always wait at the fence until everyone is safe.

I was several cars back and couldn't catch the crossing but I did catch the crossing guard.
