My granddaughter Hope noticed this bunny venturing out of a wooded area near the bank.
We approached as quietly as a 3 year old can manage. Bunny started out and Hope squealed so bunny turned back. In the last shot bunny gave us a "look"
On the way home Hope mentioned that all the real bunnies she sees are small and close to the grass yet Bugs Bunny is tall and walks around like a person. I was about to explain that in cartoons things can be different when Hope summed it up for me.
"Nana! I don't think Bugs is a bunny. He's a man dressed up like a bunny who got turned into a cartoon!"

I love the coloring on that bunny...it is not like the bunnies I see here. Oh that story is just priceless!!!!
Hope is one observant and smart little girl. Love it.

Great shots, Dianne!
X and hugs to you and Hope!
Awww! Your granddaughter sounds adorable. Looks like fear gripped this bunny in the last shot. Great catch.
so wise! :)
No one is going put anything past Hope -- even a clever bunny!! I love the spotted guy don't remember seeing a spotted bunny like this one! Big eyes, too!

Have a nice weekend****
Too cute -- I love the bunnies and I love hearing Hope's thought process!
Oh that sweet angel of yours. You must spend half of the day hugging and kissing that sweet little darling.
Her realization reminded me of my Jeffrey at that same age. We were eating chicken for dinner and suddenly he exclaimed "Hey! There are two kinds of chicken in the world. The animal and the kind we eat" I didn't have the heart to tell him at that precise moment but we did very soon afterward.
Hope was able to discern that Bugs shows all the non-bunny traits, including bipedalism! Nice close-ups of the bunny.
That girl is so soo smart..like her Dad and Grandma....
Wise words. Wise words. And great job getting some shots without spooking the bunny. That last shot with the wide eyes. Never noticed that before.
That is a startled look on that bunny!
I think Hope summed up Bugs perfectly!
oh, the wisdom of children!
I like seeing bunnies hopping around (just not in my garden!)
Cute!
He's big!
My Critter post, have a great weekend!
That is so cute and out of the mouths of babes. Great photos!
Wow, that is amazing how close you were able to get. He is so beautiful.
Pretty color!

Your comment is always a treat for me!
Have a blessed weekend.
Hope is very perceptive:-)
Love the cute bunnies! Happy Sunday!
Love the eye in the last shot! I think you scared the poor thing out of its wits, not that its difficult to scare a bunny out of its wits as its definitely short on wits. That's what I believe and that's where I will stand! ;)
Hope is the perfect name for this exception child .. every post you write about her makes me feel hopeful
A wise girl!
Out of the mouth of babes, my friend. Cheers!!
they are so sweet. :)
Hope is such a treasure! Man oh man, she sure sounds like a smart kid!
Ah! Trying to explain anthropomorphism to a 3-year old! You 've done well...
