It's Gonna Be A Sunny Day

As I mentioned in a previous post I made a day trip to Philadelphia to meet my wonderful friend Ron  and to see my niece perform at the Walnut Street Theater as Lady Tiang in 'The King and I'


The sky was misbehavin' a bit as I approached the lovely Benjamin Franklin Bridge ...

Yet the skies were clear and blue just an hour later

My niece is Hope's Tita Gelli aka - Angelica and AuntAnaGela and many other nicknames. She is married to my DIL's brother but calling her my niece is just easier and I have been appointed an honorary Tita title anyway. She is an accomplished actress with a wonderful voice and a powerful stage presence and an exceptional air of magic all around her.

The entire cast was exceptional. The sets and costumes were beautiful.

If I remember correctly this adding machine dates back to the early 1800s.

I don't remember the name of the place where this was displayed. I want to say the Wells Fargo building but I could be wrong.

I was in Philadelphia last week to see a show and meet the wonderful Ron from VENT

Summer and Shadows and Critters - Oh My!

Summer brings lots of tourists to this park. There is a wonderful Inn just down the road. Everyone comes to take photos of the river and the boats ...

Black and White Wednesday: The Vessel

I found BLACK AND WHITE WEDNESDAY through LIFE WITH KAISHON

I am rarely pleased with my B&W shots but I like this one.
The lack of carnival colors made this water slide look like a vessel from another planet.



No, I haven't smoked a thing. I'm like this naturally.

This is a rest area at a shopping center in Shrewsbury, NJ. I took this in early December on a cold windy day.

Camera Critters: Working Man's Best Friend

I was waiting to get out of the parking lot of a very crowded shopping center when I let a pickup truck move into the lane ahead of me. I got a wave of thanks and immediately noticed how good looking the driver was. He had that sexy Marlboro Man look and his truck said he was a contractor. Irresistible.

As we inched forward this sweetie appeared in the passenger side window ...




I took these a couple of days ago and intended to use them today and mention that you can see wonderful dogs every Saturday at DARYL’S PLACE. Her weekly 'Waiting Impatiently' posts are fantastic.

I just came from visiting her and she has a Shepherd posted too! I love little moments like that.

Ruby Tuesday: Me Precious! Me Precious!

My friend DARYL, the Goddess of Internet Tubes Gift Giving, sent me a lovely framed photo. It's a shot of a neon sign she found in a shop. When I admired the photo she sent me one.

Daryl - I really admire all your jewelry - oh, and your husband is adorable and very George Carlin sexy. Just sayin'

Any time I get anything new and pretty I fuss around with where to put it.

First I tried the top shelf of the tall bookcase. It took about 5 minutes for me to realize Siren would knock it off.



Then I tried putting it by some books on a lower shelf. Eh



And then it hit me! It is perfect for my little "Me Precious" section. So now "Mine" has joined the company of ...

RUBY TUESDAY

Ruby Tuesday: Bits of This and That

I was going through my photo archives for shots to post at PIC A THEME. The current theme is odd angles and different perspectives and unusual objects. While I was going through I found some red shots that I decided to share here.

You should check out PIC A THEME - there are some really talented and creative photographers displaying their photos there. I'm grateful to be part of the team.

The snow blower was sitting out in the carport waiting to be serviced for its long summer rest.



The snow blower is wearing its ID tag from the snow blower hospital.



I don't know about you but when I hear the snow blower engine rumbling and when I see it vibrating like a demon I always think - gee, maybe I should put my arm in there.



Our carpot was stripped and power washed and the painters left the ladders since they were coming right back. Sat there for two weeks.



That little bit of red on the post my son painted red/white/blue for Memorial Day is what I see when I back the car up the drive. Yes - I'm too close - what else is new.



I was searching through my purse at the grocery and looked down to see this cool little display of red squares over concrete diamonds.

Ruby Tuesday: A Flower For Mary

RUBY TUESDAY is a year old! It is the first photo meme I participated in and through it I have met many talented photographers and wonderful people.

My thanks to Mary for all she does. For hosting Ruby Tuesday. For presenting interesting and informative posts. For being a good person and a good friend.

Two New Photo Projects

Two of my favorite people MARY and PAGAN SPHINX have started new photo projects today.

Pagan is hosting 'Think Green Thursday' - you can read all about it HERE. She is having some technical issues but wanted to start on Earth Day so have a little patience and be a little flexible. If anyone can answer her tech questions please help - I'd really appreciate it.

Mary has started 'Window Views'. Check it out HERE. If it's half as successful as Ruby Tuesday it's going to be great.

Camera Critters: Honest Scrap From Mia and Siren

My friend Lisa of VILLAS GIRL PHOTOS and her merry band of furkids gave Mia and Siren the Honest Scrap Award.



As part of accepting the award Mia and Siren need to post 10 honest things about themselves. Of course they got into an argument about who should post but I stepped in and told them they had to share the spotlight. Treats were offered and they agreed.

1> As hard as our person tried to introduce us to each other we really do not want to be friends



2> We both really hate being groomed. She tries everything. These groomer gloves are cozy and delicious but no way will we sit still for grooming. Hair was meant to be swallowed and thrown up, preferably into shoes and on carpets.




3> Siren – “When that other cat first got here I will admit I was curious. I swear I wasn’t going to do anything to her if I had managed to get that door open.”



4> Mia – “I love how nervous I make that punk. Look at him! Peeking out at me. I rule the hallway.”



5> Siren – “Oh please! She needs to get over herself. Talk to the tail. I’m not afraid of you, I’m just annoyed that you exist.”



6> Mia – “It’s hard to admit I’m a bit arthritic. The person put this box here to make it easier for me. I never did say thanks; at first I wouldn’t even use it.”



But …

“I really do appreciate it. And she never even said anything about how I scratched the bed frame and tore up the bedspread.”



7> Siren – “Sometime when I get a feel for the old days on the streets I get a little wild, aggressive even …



… the person put a screen door in the spare room for me so I can have a comfy time-out.”



8> Early in the morning when the person is in the shower we get together to plan the day. Thank goodness the person doesn’t know about this – she’d be there with that camera of hers.



9> We don’t do laps. We know that bothers the person. She’s such a hugger and cuddler. Sometimes we sit close, very close. It’s our way.



10> Wow! Blogging is harder than we thought. So much to share. It left us dizzy …



… and exhausted.

Camera Critters: Indoor Cat Gets Out ... Again

My Camera Critter this week is my friend and neighbor Sleeves. When his people go out of town we hang out together. Sleeves has a naughty habit of sneaking out to catch some rays.



He knows I'll make him go back in so he gives me some attitude.

Ruby Tuesday: If You Love Someone Set Them Free ... From Valentine's Day

I know it is the Ruby Tuesday before Valentine's Day but ya know - I'm just not a fan of Valentine's Day. I like spontaneous shows of affection and meaningful gifts given for no reason.

I just came from Mary's beautiful Valentine post and her blog is so wonderfully decorated and I do feel a bit like a Grinch - a miserable love-less Grinch (hehehehehe) but really I'm not.

I went to the huge Hallmark store near me yesterday. Good Lord! How much useless crap can they fit into a store full of men huffing and puffing and wondering if anything they buy will be romantic enough.

So I grabbed a couple of Hannah Montana recordable cards and got the hell out of there - I plan on putting very naughty messages on them - now that's LOVE

And then I went to the beach ...
