Snowy Hope

Hope had a snow day during one of our non-stop storms and she got to help Daddy clean up.

She was thrilled!

Daddy was a little less thrilled with the snow

Hope follows Daddy everywhere but she knows the end of the driveway is as far as she can go unless someone is holding her hand

She took a seat until Daddy was done with his dangerous in the street work.

I asked her if she knew who Miley Cryus was and she said she did. She likes the wrecking ball song. I asked if she was imitating Miley and she said "No way, I'm too little to act like that"

"Nana! Daddy is making me carry all the heavy stuff!"

"Just kidding"

Daddy admitted that having Hope as a helper makes the clean-up much better

I posted some pics of the cats over at The Other Blog

Snowy Trees

The last two storms produced heavy, wet snow that sits on the branches and freezes.

Not good for power lines or over burdened branches but very pretty on trees at the park.

Snow Day

There was all this worry about snow on Super Bowl Sunday.

It waited for Monday.

Isadora is shocked by what she sees out her window

Snow Saturday

At 4:30 this morning I was asleep on the sofa. Flashlight in hand. Cats at my feet.

At 4:45 a snow plow on the street behind us stopped and the flashing yellow lights made the cats go nuts. They were zooming up and down the hall and running to the windows.

I took some photos of the back yard through an open window. An icy mixture was blowing into the camera so apologies for crappy effects.

Then I took a few more shots from the carport at the side of the house. The footprints are my son's. He came home from work in the middle of the night.

Compared to CT, MA, RI and Long Island, NY we didn't get slammed with snow. I think there's about a foot of snow out there.

We never lost power, just some flickering.

The Magic of Trees

I adore trees. There is something timeless and strong and spiritual about them.

I have always been fascinated by bare tree limbs. They are like the hands of an old wise being, reaching out to express all they know.

Make Sure The Snow Plow Can See You

It's hard enough to walk in NJ on a spring day, it's not set up for pedestrians. This woman was schlepping through the snow balancing her coffee.

This shot was taken a day or two before our last storm where we got an additional 19 inches of snow. I wouldn't be able to spot that woman now. I hope she's been getting a lift from someone.

Weekend Reflections: Puddles and Potholes

We've had a lot of snow the past 3 weeks and now it's warm so we have a lot of potholes (ouch) and a lot of puddles.

I found a tree growing in this puddle ...

Camera Critters: Snow Birds

During a lull in one of our many snowstorms these birds came out to see what the trees might have to offer. They were swooping and calling to each other. I realized my neighbor was filling the feeders and calling to them.

Siren was fascinated.

Miscellaneous Monday: Driveway Slalom

We had to pile the snow high on either side, there was nowhere else to put it. It's a bit disorienting when backing up.

Mellow Yellow Monday and Ruby Tuesday: Color In The Snow

We had a snowstorm Saturday. I think we got a foot of snow.

During the storm I got these shots of my yellow topped trash bin wearing its snow hat ...

And my son's bright red truck ...
