I hope Spring arrives soon for all of you waiting impatiently. Can you believe I have two red rose buds opening this week and four more developing? Seems like I just cut those bushes back not too long ago. Maybe I'll share them next Tuesday. Hugs and blessings,
A K-Mart garden shop it appears. I miss the long gone local K-Mart and its shop - big skids of peat moss and manure, boxes of grass seed and rows of rakes and sprinklers. Of the big-box retailers, I still preferred the outdoor areas at the Big K...
storyteller - I'd love to see the buds, they're so sweet at that age :)
cloudia - I hope so :)
eastcoastlife - I know, I think everyone needs some spring
rambling - for a bit they had winter stuff - snow blowers and shovels and salt but we didn't get much snow this year so they moved that into the main store and just shut this down -
carletta - soon is good :)
leora - this place gets crazy once the season starts
ralph - it is K-mart - they seem to be doing OK - this part of the store is huge!! it wraps around the back. I prefer the smaller places although they're all closing :( and then I prefer Lowe's - everything seems cleaner and healthier there compared to K
Bonsoir Dianne, I prefer imagining their plants and flowers in people's garden or their balcony than in this warehouse. What a Red magical word for soon.
Now that I live in a flat and not a house, and so don't have a garden to speak of, I really miss the regular trips to the garden centre. Mind you my bank balance probably doesn't miss it!
I was driving past the local Agway store today and it got me to thinking about last Spring and all the lovely flowers I had on my front porch. With the new house, this Spring is going to definitely be different as I'm thinking it's going to be a couple of containers and that's about it. I do, however, love petunias and they make wonderful container plants along with some pansies and a few other favorites. I may figure out how to get some flower boxes balanced on the new windowsills, too. Hmmmm ...
A sight for soar winter eyes. I only have snowdrops and crocus blossoming in my garden. Yesterday I saw daffodils and violets in our local supermarket. TOO early. King winter might stil bite with his frosty mouth. But the birds are singing and building nests. I would not trade this season for anything. Fromm felisol
O=I'm waiting for spring too, Dianne. I can hardly wait to see the first pansies in the garden centres here but that probably won;t happen for another month. Crocus buds and leaves haven't poked through the soil yet. Soon though!
We've had 70+ degree days for the past 3 days, but lots of wind for the most part, but I do detect the rumblings from the earth here in the south...I think our whole nation needs some "Spring" Fever...Thanks for the visit to my site...
OhMGosh, I can't imagine a Garden shop closing for the winter! I would think they would sell snow shovels or ice salt or the likes and stay open. Of course ours are open all winter here in South Texas. This year it didn't freeze hard enough to kill off the misquitos. Happy RT, thanks for peeking in on my Spring blooms and buds and for your nice comment. The car is a 60's or early 70's Ford Bronco which was parked in the parking lot where we ate Sunday night. ..
shinade - spring keeps teasing us - it's 60, then 30 - sun then snow
catherine - the shop will actually look pretty once they open again, I'll take some pics :)
pagan - I got large patio pots last year, the gardening is too much on my back so I do the pots instead
amber - I love visiting all the shops too :)
ilanadavita - yes we are! :)
jackie - I do pots now, the garden is too much for my back although I do feed the grass and pull the sprinklers around
linda - flower boxes are beautiful! as I've been mentioning I do all potted plants - easier on my decrepit body ;)
felisol - I go by the rule of planting in May - April here can still be very wintry
lisa - a new garden to go with a new deck - you're living it up lady!!
cherie - yes she is! :)
EG - they usually open here in late March - and get very busy as Easter approaches
thoughtfully - we do need some Spring Fever! good point :)
connie - I enjoy that too :)
byz - thanks :)
gail - the most fun shopping too :)
jim - they usually do but the winter here has been relatively snow free so they cut costs and moved the winter stuff into the main store and laid off all the seasonal workers - it's a part of K-Mart and they have the space in the main store - they do promise to open the garden shop though - I hope those people get their jobs back

Ours are empty for now too..Can't wait...
Looks like we're all waiting for opening day.
I have things popping up in the flowerbeds so I know it's going to be soon.
Have a great day Dianne!
What a neat idea: I am imagining all the plants in my head! Oh, what fun spring is for the gardening crowd.

Hope you guys get a break soon!!

Bonsoir Dianne,

I can't wait to start seeing the plants come out in the nurseries. I buy one or two perennials every season. A ritual.
Spring is my favorite time of the year and the garden centers are my fav stops. Nice red for RT. :)
Aren't we all waiting for spring? Fine shots.

I must admit that I'm getting the itch. I love to work in the yard and have already been scoping out some gardening ideas. Lisa
Spring she's a comin'. :)

I took a walk today and took pictures of flowers on trees. I love spring time. I like to go to the garden depts and take pictures of flowers too.
Hope you have a beautiful, flower filled spring. Happy RT! :)

napaboaniya - what a lovely thought :)
What a lovely shop. I can imagine how beautiful it looks like with all those flowers and plants. Full of life! I would love to see it. Best Wishes :)
Yes, I hope it fills up with color soon! Thanks for visiting my RT post. Enjoy the day...
I am waiting too ! Yesterday opening our stores what did I see ? Snow on the roof of our neighbor's house ! I immediately got a nervous breakdown !
I'm waitin', I'm waitin', Dianne! Great post! Happy Ruby Tuesday! :)
Great shots, and they make me want spring to hurry up and get here, already, so I can work in my gardens.
I see you beat me by 22 Ruby Tuesdayers this week. :-)
Some weeks I'm more organized than others.
Like Ralph said, I also miss the nearby K-mart that closed sereral years ago and its garden shop.
I'm with you ~ welcome Spring!!
....and then it will look so lovely!
nice photo! hope to see shots of flowers in there soon!
