Ruby Tuesday: The Fire Truck

I confess that I'm like a child when it comes to fire trucks. My son used to go nuts whenever he saw one - he'd scream out "Friar Fruck" - at one point it also sounded like something else but we'll just let that go.

I came out of an appointment to find this Friar Fruck parked right behind my car. It was photograpy heaven!

How cool is that...having a fire truck right there posing for you? I love the stuffy detail.

Great shots Dianne!
I love your closeups showing us the detail. I don't recognize the stuffed creature under the wipers but the green Beanie Baby looks like he's posing for you. :)

Fire Trucks Rule!! Nice shots. They're as cool as the firemen that drive them.

I love firetrucks too ... and your photos are perfect for Ruby Tuesday! As for my Ruby Tennis Mosaic and New York ... perhaps one day I'll get to the Open in person, but for now I'm happy with my Sony Bravia HD flat screen and my trusty DVR ;--)
Hugs and blessings,

Gotta love Yosemite Sam - his mustache alone qualifies for RT! I like fire trucks, always take the time to admire these functional yet stylish beasts of burden...

I caught the essence of your son's mispronunciation - It reminds of ours when they were little and just learning the language for the first time!

You found some great bits of red on that Friar Fruck.

My favorite part of fire trucks are the hot firefighters that drive them around ;-).

A shiny, red fire truck posing just for you! :)

I love all the shots. I can't make out what the stuffed animal is but I see Erin the Beanie Baby (I think) behind it.

HEY EVERYBODY!!

the stuffed toy in the window is Yosemite Sam, same as their mascot/insignia

and yes! Erin the Beanie Baby Bear

I like friar frucks too! Cute story about your son but you're not going to let him see this post, right? (But DO save it to show your grandkid. LOL)

A colossal construction this "Fruck "of yours.
I like the way it shines and glows from grooming and polishing.
Nobody is that conserned about well functioning equippement like firefighters.
Then again, their lives and ours are dependent of every single detail being in utmost order.

I also appreciate the sense of humor in a stressful day; Yosemite Sam.

LOL you are brave to get that close to take pics. I think I would be scared the firemen would yell at me! :)

BTW, I dressed KP in red just for today. :-) [Not really, but she's on the blog again!]

Dianne, these shots are excellent, love the closeups. How different your fire truck is to the ones i captured. And firemen are heroes :)

Love the trucks and your photos.
What luck to have one parked so close for a great photo op.

I love the Friar Fruck story! I have a similar one - when I first qualified as a health visitor (kind of like a public health nurse over your side of the Pond, dealing with families with under-5s), my first baby clinic I had a mum come in who was pouring out her woes, while her son (who must have been coming up for 3 I guess) was charging around in the background with a fire engine he'd picked up in the waiting room yelling "Fi-UUUUUUUUck! Fi-UUUUUUUUUck!" at the top of his voice while his mum was totally oblivious to it all. I still maintain I should have won an Oscar for keeping a straight face.

I'm with you on the fire truck thing. Once in a while, when I pass our fire department, they have ALL the trucks and vehicles rolled out for cleaning the station. I'm hoping to have my camera handy next time. Love your photos of the friar fruck. Thanks for the smile.

What a great Friar Fruck. Frucks are so common around my neck of the woods, gotta love those speech impediments!
Thanks for stopping by my Ruby Tuesday yesterday, sorry for the delay in my visit! Enjoyed looking around your site though.

There's nothing like a shiny red fruck to liven things up for Ruby Tuesday!
