Mid Week Blues: Are You Getting All Emotional Ma?

My granddaughter Hope turned 10 months old yesterday. Sunday is Mother's Day and is also my son's (her Dad) birthday.

So of course I do what Jeffrey always teases me about - I get all emotional. Especially when I open the door and Hope raises her hand, gives me a huge smile and says "Hi"
She also says "this" and "the glee" and of course "DaDa"

She was in a really good mood on her 10 month birthday because she called shotgun in the 'Bye Bye Buggy' at day care.

A huge difference from the buggy she came home from the hospital in.

I still say she looked like a drunken sailor.

I got to thinking about the night she was born. All was fine for hours and hours and then Hope's heart rate dropped and all hell broke loose and medical personnel rushed in and my DIL's doctor said it was C-section time. I remember one of the nurses came out into the hall to get my son "gowned" for the OR and Jeffrey was whispering to me "they said distress, distress Ma" and I took a deep breath and said it was OK.

Here he is just before he went into the OR. He asked me to take the picture which is so utterly, totally unlike him.

We call it the "Daddy knew it was all OK" photo.

And it was.

He was a quick study on diaper changing.

And he can always make Hope smile.

I had a completely different post prepared for MWB but then I noticed that so many of the photos I was going through had blue in them.

And on we go ...

Right down to the blue in her headband! You had me in suspense there, then I remembered you were celebrating 10 mos. so it must have turned out ok! She does look tickled pink in the Bye Bye Buggy.

Great post. I'm so glad things turned out ok. Hope is a doll. Your son seems to be a very good daddy! :) Love the "druken sailor" shot.

Hope is getting sooooooo big! And still cuter than a bug's ear! Is she walking?
She might have looked like a drunken sailor but I would never say so. In fact I don't think so, she is too cute for thinking that.

Our KP will be 10 months old the 16th. She is on my blog today also, just a tinge of blue. I doubt if KP will walk before she is a year old. She is just now figuring out crawling halfway good.

Happy MidWeek Blues! :)

Wishing you a very happy mothers' day! (this side of the pond Mothers' Day was a couple of months ago so it feels a bit weird wishing it now!).

She's growing up so fast isn't she?

She is a cutie! My grandson lost his first tooth this week and I have to admit I was a little depressed because it seems he and his little sister are growing up so much faster than my own kids did.

Hope continues to get cuter. You are a lucky nana.

Her hair is great. I love it.

I remember that shot of your son waving before going into the OR.
