Summer and Sunday and Shadows

You know it's summer and beach season is in full swing when ...

... they decide to do major construction on the bridge that is the only way to get to the beaches or park.

I took this on a weekday.
Just imagine what the weekends are like.

Oy!

But ...

... you get to relax here once you get there.

I can only imagine what the weekend traffic would be like. What a great shot - all of those cranes.

Thanks so much for coming and joining "Summer Sundays"!

Isn't road construction fun? NOT! But worth the hassle, I think. I love the shadow-lined path! A perfect place for a walk.

You're absolutely right about road construction, Dianne! Your second photo is so lovely and calm. :)

Why do they always do road construction during the peak seasons?!! They should ask us when to do it! Lovely shot down the shaded road. Thanks for sharing and nice to meet you. Have a wonderful summer.

Oy... What a mess that must be. Hopefully the place remains tranquil enough on the weekends to justify the headache in getting there!

It seems to be a rule that roadworks are done when they will cause the most inconvenience!! But they did provide you with a good shadow shot!

A wonderful shadowy path! I would like to be
walking through that shade and imagining myself
camouflaged!

Same things happening everywhere Dianne.
They decide to do the repairs when they expect the heaviest traffic.

Walk shadowy paths,
but do not fear the darkness—
light is always near.

Isn't that what always happens?! Probably too much snow in the winter to work though.
Very nice Shadow Shots. Love the shadowy lane!

Isn't is just something the way the construction crews set up to do work just when we don't need them to! :)
Great shots!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

Now why couldn't they do this in the off season? Very cute post!
Makes one wonder!

The shadows are wonderful. It seems like there's quite a bit of road construction here too. Not great for tourism, it seems to me.

Yes, the shadowy path looks just like a n Impressionist painting! So beautiful.

We are off to the beach tomorrow. Robert Moses on LI.
But Buster has to stay home!

Looks like it is the same the world over! We are heading to beach for a week on Friday and I am sure that the roads will be just as crazy.

Thanks for visiting my blog the other day-great to meet you!

Best wishes,
Natasha.
