My 'Brella Buddy

Weekend Reflections is right below

The patio umbrella had been closed for several days; enough time for somebody to move in.

As I cranked open the umbrella from underneath I noticed a shadow. Upon closer inspection ...

... I realized I had guests.

I let it be for awhile with the umbrella half open. Later in the day I moved the "structure" to a group of bushes.

Everyone was carrying on as if they were about to be swarmed by killer insects. Telling me to close the umbrella, get the hose, call the National Guard. Ridiculous.

I do not see the need to kill a living creature just because you can.

I enlarged the pic and it's wonderful!
I'm glad you moved it. Wasps will leave you alone if you leave them alone. :)

Quite the capture! I have a little one just outside my sliding glass door that needs to be moved, too, before it gets too big. Thanks for the reminder! ~karen

Very cool that you were able to move it and not hurt it in the process. I try to leave them alone.

Love the picture, Dianne, and that you were able to move it! I don't like killing anything-even wasps or spiders...unless they are a threat to me or others.

Great shot, Dianne! I try to save creatures except I'm terribly afraid of wasps. Can't tell if this is a wasp, but you're very brave! :)

I applaud your caring nature towards nature :) Wasps have their roles to play in the grand scheme of things.

I'm totally with you on this, all creatures have their place in this world, and we should learn to share it with them- we're not "supreme".
Fantastic wasp shot!
