Restaurant Reflections and Urban Birds

On one of our unseasonably warm days last week the reflections were all around this restaurant - as seen from the outdoor dining section ...

Parking is sparse near the restaurant so I had to pull over and wait. I always carry bird and squirrel food in the car - never know when you might meet a hungry friend.

This little guy was part of a flock of little ones that were rushing about between an overhang and a fence. I put some food down for them in the bits of grass they appeared to feel safe in.

At first he was suspicious, then he gave me a bit of ruffled feather attitude. He eventually decided I was harmless and packing nothing more than seeds so he ventured out for a moment before slipping back through the fence.

After I parked I looked back and was happy to see many little birds feasting on the food I had put down.

Have a great weekend and find a moment to be kind to an animal.

What a cute bird. He looked bit lonely. So nice that you take a good care of him.

I saw a white/albino sparrow this Summer. I kept meaning to go back with my camera. He's probably still there at the cinnamon roll place. I mean who would want to leave that spot.

dear dianne..you are such a tender soul...to be feeding god's little creatures.
i would rather be sitting where you are, watching them darling birds then to be somewhere fancy..
we used to feed the birds and squirrels up to last year but when cats were coming to the bird feeder in our front lawn and hiding behind the lilac buses in wait to pounce on and kill the little things, we decided that it was way too sad....and so we stopped feeding them, leaving only the bird bath so they could at least cool themselves in the hot sun..they were pretty safe that way.
mind you, i like cats but i think that in a town they should be kept in the house and not out destroying birds and squirrels!
these were really nice pictures and it seems that the little guys really trusted you dianne..you are a gentle soul...love terry
