weekend reflections is right below
It's important to look up. I would have missed this wonderful structure if I hadn't ...
There was a park ranger nearby and I wanted to ask him what brilliant critter built this but he was busy being mesmerized by two young women in really tight running gear. I could have shouted "bear" but that seemed so mean. All three of them were so young and so pretty.
CAMERA CRITTERS
I took these shots in late November. I haven't been back to this park since our Christmas blizzard, it's just too hard to get around.

LOL....I would've 'butted' in and got him back on the right track.
Excellent photos.

Nice photos. I guess it's tough being a Park Ranger.
Interesting nest, they look similiar to some bees hive or nest.
That is impressive. Boy, being a park ranger must be really hard work ...!!!!! Stay warm! Happy Critter Day!
A wasp nest of some sort??? Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
Wow! That is an impressive nest. Glad your weren't stung. I think I would have interrupted the park ranger!
Terrific captures.
Interesting nest. I'd be curious to know what critter built it, too.
Looks a lot like a yellow jacket hive to me. Nice shots, Dianne!
Beautiful...the hive NOT the visual image of the runners! but I think it is a bee or wasp of some sort; ummm, not something to get close to by any means...
Great shots... ah, to be young and beautiful... Park Rangers must have it rough!
What a terrific capture, Dianne! I would guess bee or wasp??? But not something to play with regardless. Ah, yes, to be young again and play with the park rangers -- but I digress, back to bees and wasps!!! Have a wasp/bee free weekend! Hugs to Hope and a big one for you, too!

Super pictures Dianne!
Everybody is on the right track. I believe this is a hornet's nest.
Its beautiful.

Beautiful is that first pic! I think I would have convinced you to yell "Bear" if I would have been there, LOL!
Well, if you had hit the structure with a stick and seen the wasps or hornets fly out, that would have gotten the ranger's attention! But seriously, hope you are up to snuff soon. I love the brick shot and the kitty/shadows one below. Good work!
Wow..so gorgeous!! Brilliant photos..you always inspire and I love visiting you..shine on!! Gorgeous photos!!
I don't know how much of my family history to share on the blog...Knowing about the Holocaust is one thing. Seeing photos of my husband's grandparents who were murdered is a whole other level...That there was (and is) such evil in some people, I just can fathom....lots of tears in this one..
Looks like a wasp/hornet nest. Silly park ranger needed a poke in the ribs... LOL

It's a Hornet's nest!! I love to see those and used to have a huge one that we found somewhere. I think it got left behind when we moved from Miami 20+ years ago.
