Canada geese are neat creatures, one is always on look-out when they are feeding!

Gus and Gary, eh? They look very friendly, not at all afraid of humans or their cameras.

OMG, these are freakin' AWESOME photos, Dianne!

Holy cow, the clarity and sharpness of the detail in their color and markings are faaaaabulous!

Loved that you named them Gus and Gary!

The thing I admire about geese is their moxie. They're not afraid of anything!

I like that first one, it's almost like "Hey, where'd everybody go??"

That top photo is my favorite...he's so stately. And the water reflecting makes it all the more pretty.

Pelicans, poop, pictures, potty training and puns

That is my link for today. Hope you have a great weekend, and if you celebrated mother's day...enjoy!!!

Fun to watch but they sure make a mess of the pathways around here.

They look like high-struttin' folks!

I HAD A LITTLE SHADOW
(With apologies to Robert Louis Stevenson)

I had a little shadow
No bigger than my thumb;
I took him to the meadow
And there I gave him rum.

My drunken little shadow
Did weave and bob and pitch;
He stumbled from the meadow
And fell into a ditch!

These birds look so stately, handsome (and they certainly know it too :)

Happily for the photographer, there are no hatchlings. Geese are quite protective of their young. So these bachelors can play the part of models - and you have captured them well!

They really are gorgeous aren't they? I think we see them so often that we don't often stop to see how beautiful they are...your photos reminded me!

I like the one with the vignetting, it really shows the grace yet prowess of the bird.

Who is who? I love Gus and Gary, especially on a nice sunny day. Great shadow shots, all of them!
Hope all is good with you.

Great photos, Dianne.
Let's see, if two more happen by you can name them Greg and George...or Garrett and Gilbert.
Or something like that!

I like your whiny/woozy sister act idea.
I looked up woozy after I wrote that post and learned it was indeed a word, as you pointed out. ;-)

Enjoy your Mother's Day!

Such nice of pictures of these geese! I also love the water and all the green and colors of the trees.

Thanks for asking about us. I've just been so busy with work and we're also getting ready to move back to California in just under two weeks now. We've been living in PA but are moving back home for family reasons. Hopefully, I'll get back to blogging after the move.

Take care!!
