Where Will We Put The Bikes?

I have been spending a lot more time back in my old neighborhood in Brooklyn, NY. My aunt still lives there - around the corner from where I grew up and not more that half a mile from any of the places I lived as an adult before buying the NJ house.

To say Brooklyn is more crowded now than when I was a child would be an understatement. I have noticed how much more "squished" everything seems just in the 8 years since I left.

Porches spring up wherever a few feet of space can be found. Many are built over garages or put there when single family homes are converted into two family homes to accommodate grown children returning or tenants - thank you crappy economy.

As I searched and searched for a place to park (an Olympic feat in Brooklyn) on a recent visit I noticed this porch/storage area ...

Not playing again, but I wanted to say hi and thank you for your support and positive thoughts, Dianne.

Much appreciated. :-)

I like big cities, but I don't like the cramped, crowded way of living. Neat photo catch.

Here is my Tuesday Link:

I'd really like to have you stop by if you can. Have a wonderful day ahead.

Hi Diane,We live in an apartment so the bikes live in the hall so we can fall over them.....

I haven't been back to Brooklyn in such a long time, but I'm not at all surprised that you say it's more crowded now. I think so many people who use to live in Manhattan are now living in Brooklyn and commuting into the city because it's a bit cheaper to live.

A bit - HA!

Luckily, those who have bikes here in the apartment building I dwell, have a storage room in the basement.

FABULOUS shot, Dianne!

I can identify with everything seeming smaller. When I go back to my Toledo neighborhood, I always am amazed because everything seems so much smaller than I recall it.

Hi Dianne ~~ You should have ridden your bike so you could put it with theirs. How long would it take you to ride there I am wondering. Guess Google would tell me.

Happy MW Blues! Thank you for your nice comment. :)
((((HUGS)))) for Hope! :)

If I lived in NJ I would mess around in NYC at least once a week! I'd live there for a couple years if I could work it. Or Paris. Or London.

I like your new template. If it is a Blogger on I might change over. I have some size 640 pixel pictures like this one of yours that won't fit the smaller one.

Those bikes are colorful and the pictures are great. But what I love is hearing the snippets about what it is like to live in different sections of the country.

I agree with Gattina, parking a car is sometime a nightmare here.Imagine it in Nederlands!
I still need to learn how to ride a bike! ;)

A bike is good to have, when you live in a city like yours old, but you had to take extra care in the traffic ;-)
Great shots to RT and MB!
