Waterfront Mosaic

NJ has a whole lot of towns.

There are so many that they spill over onto each other. Keyport  is one of the 6 towns around me that winds in and out of my town. It's a favorite - it's the only town that has a real main street where you can actually walk and visit small shops. It also has a beautiful waterfront where the marina I often post about is located.

Last fall the town's art council installed a mosaic  that depicts the town's history. It's situated right off the waterfront on a little island of concrete that used to be bare.

This is awesome and what great captures, Dianne! I've been to New York several times, but never managed to get to NJ, always wanted to visit! Looks like you had a lovely day, too! Enjoy your day! Hugs to Hope!

What a marvelous idea for the use of the space and to hightlight the town.
Looks like a lot of work went into the mosaics as well.
Nice finds Dianne!

The mosaic map is artistic, although merely looking at it might make one forget what the plan for the day was...The waterfront is lovely, the distant lighthouse beautiful. Nice towns and views!

Both beautiful mosaics AND photography, Dianne!

Your shots REALLY brought out all that wonderful color!!

There's an area here in Philly along South Street, where there is a local artist who has created these MASSIVE mosaics on the sides of buildings - they're incredible!

Next time you're here, I'll take you there. You'll love it!

Hope you had a MARVI Monday, dear lady!

Bright and beautiful! Can be enjoyed for the history lesson or just b/c its so cool to look at.

The winding around each other town thing reminds me of San Diego CA area, when we stayed there it was really hard to know what town you were in.

Brilliant colors against that bright blue sky!

BOY IN BRIGHT RED SHORTS

Boy in bright red shorts,
With a shirt of blue,
Strolling on the Malecón —
I wish I were you;

Carefree and content,
Nothing much to do,
Chillin’ in your bright red shorts
And your shirt of blue.
