Gulls - A - Palooza

The gulls at the marina near me are an endless source of smiles and photo ops. There are  WEEKEND REFLECTIONS  and SHADOW SHOTS 2  for these wonderful CAMERA CRITTERS

The tough guys usually meet me in the parking lot.

The General

Always checking his troops

Making sure they save me a spot

Some of the gulls prefer to meditate alone, I make sure to give them space

Others are more sociable

Incoming!

What the hell are you flappin' about?

Oh just ignore those two

After Hurricane Irene the marina owners along with the township and the business alliance decided to repair the docks and create a walkway that will lead to a small beach that is right now being cultivated.

The gulls appear to be pleased with this. They discussed it at their last meeting.

The committee

Of course there's always one who has to dissent.

Have a great weekend

Love the gulls! I always enjoy getting shots of them when I'm able to go down to the harbor. Don't get to go as often as before I moved, but one of these days I'll get back! In the meantime I have you photos to make me smile and giggle! Have a great weekend, Dianne! Hugs to Hope!

At first I thought that we were going to have another post featuring Gus, but I see we were treated to his whole flock. Your storytelling never disappoints. :) Happy Weekend, Lady! :)

There is something dictatorial looking about gulls...

Seagulls seem to be universal creatures ... everywhere I've been in the world, if it's near the sea I witness this comittee of gulls...some bossy ..some timid but all beautiful in their own way.
A Lovely series of snaps.
Have a wonderful week-end.

Gulls are great, except when some bozo is throwing them french fries.

I loved this post! Our kind of place -- and your gulls have quite the personalities. Great series.

Isn't it ironic that the gulls have big bodies but the shows are like sticks. Beautiful shots.

Thank you for your contribution to Shadow Shot Sunday 2.

Miniature Rose's Shadow, have a blessed Sunday!

I love all these gull photos. Their little legs are so skinny they barely cast a shadow! So funny!

This is marvelous! Loved all the comments with the photos! Definitely looks as if the gulls are chatting about the status quo with humans! Terrific photos!

I think it is the size of his army that the General is most pleased with! Naturally in the service, some gulls are slackers while others are brave soldiers. Happily, an attack of this flock is in doubt, since the sentries are acting alone...not much of a squadron here. The gull army around here can be found on the parking lot that divides the Burger King from the CVS. They must love the french fries...

Dianne this was too perfectly cute to see and read ! Gulls are funny birds .. and this narrative sounds just like what they would be saying to each other .. especially the "what the hell are you flappin' about!" my favourite !

Gulls too are always willing to pose. Here's a tip you can try next time when you see a bunch sitting in like a parking lot such as your first three photos. Approach them as you look through the viewfinder of your camera. Just as they take off fire off a bunch of shots and you'll get good close-ups of them with thier wings pumping for lift-off. Sometimes a stomp of the foot is needed to get them off the ground. Usually they only go a few feet then land again where you can get some shots with their landing gear down. Thanks for the comment on my blog.
