Santa Puddle

Giant inflatable decorations are all the rage here in the burbs. I'm so glad my neighbors don't have one of them, they make an awful whirring/whooshing sound all night.

During the day there are puddles of them all over lawns throughout town.

My granddaughter Hope was appalled the first time she saw one. "Santa melted!" she cried out. Now, at the wise old age of 3, she plays a game of trying to figure out what they'll look like inflated.

Next week I'll share some fully formed Santas.

I saw a Santa "melted" on the ground yesterday and became sad. They are fun at night, but so depressing to see them down during the day.

so funny .. i just got back from Cincinnati where every lawn has some sort of decoration or many ... at night the inflatables are big and blown up .. during the day .. flat and fizzled .. my friend Mary explained that they aren't blown up like a balloon but kept inflated by power/electricity .. i had no idea .. so now explain why you'd keep a blow up inflated in the dark and not inflated during the day????????

I've seen a few of these and agree that I'm glad no one in my neighbourhood has any. :)) I love Hope's comment!!

Lol ! Santa melted, that's so cute !

Perhaps this is like the Wizard of Oz where Dorothy made the Wicked Witch of tis West melt. Too bad, Santa, like the witch, was such a dynamic character prior to his unfortunate mishap...

Around here they keep them going 24/7.

OMG...how CUTE is that!!!!!

Ralph took the words right out of my mouth because I was going to say it reminded me of when the witch in The Wizard Of OZ melted!

"Oh, what a world....what a world..."

Great photo, Dianne!

X to you and Hope!

I remember once a few years ago when we were looking for our new home we came across a property that I bet had 25 or more of these deflated on the ground.
I like Hope's interpretation!

Ha! Too funny... I detest the inflatables also and I can't imagine the amount of money that are spent on these "decorations." At least your granddaughter enjoys them :)

You should try to imagine what it's like to be in a senior citizen RV resort with all those dead Santas lying in people's yards. Just too awful.

lol....cute granddaughter. I like those when they are inflated at night, but during the day, they take away from other decorations that are beautiful by daylight. We don't and won't own one.
