Decal

I was in line at the drive-thru watching the Dad and son in the car in front of me. They were laughing and talking and dancing in their seats to the radio.

Made me smile.

I really wanted a shot of the two of them but the angle was wrong and I'm always hesitant to shoot people without their permission.

Then I noticed the decal. Happy son is an added bonus.

"There's A Parrot In The Floor!"

my granddaughter Hope said when she saw this reflection created by sunlight on a piece of crystal.

I've been playing around with new photo editing sites now that Picnik.com will be shutting down. I created this at iPiccy.com.

Waterfront Mosaic

NJ has a whole lot of towns.

There are so many that they spill over onto each other. Keyport  is one of the 6 towns around me that winds in and out of my town. It's a favorite - it's the only town that has a real main street where you can actually walk and visit small shops. It also has a beautiful waterfront where the marina I often post about is located.

Last fall the town's art council installed a mosaic  that depicts the town's history. It's situated right off the waterfront on a little island of concrete that used to be bare.

Hope's Treasure Chest

My son cleared out the curio that held all his Simpsons stuff so that Hope could have a place for her "creations"

Hope took this first photo herself

The "treasure chest", as Hope calls it, holds the art she creates at school.

Peace

When you find peace within yourself, you become the kind of person who can live at peace with others
~ Peace Pilgrim

the peace symbol was on the back of a parked van. i played around with the shot to minimize the grit of the window and maximize the colors of the symbol and the reflection of the sky

i'm also playing around with peace within myself - they don't have software for that yet ...

Photo Trippin'

I was on an excruciatingly slow line at the DMV inspection station when I noticed the wonky reflection the tail lights of the car ahead of me cast on my hood. Add odd blue lighting from above and it made for some entertaining moments.

I wish I could have taken more shots but I was told to stop the moment the security guard saw my camera. I suppose there's a huge risk for terrorism at DMV stations - from consumers of course.

Finally back home with my deemed safe vehicle I took the original shot ...

... and had a little fun trying to recreate what I was imagining as I sat in line.

This last shot surprised me. I have no idea where that Free something sign was. I never saw it.

Just Say No to drugs kids, go photo trippin' instead.

Sculpture

This is the back view of a sculpture outside an office complex. Trust me, the front view doesn't make it any clearer as to what this is supposed to be.

It's red. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it ...

Life Is Art Because It Is Beautiful

I think the building is part of a high school complex.

Mid Week Blues: Getting Artsy Fartsy at the Car Wash

I was going through the car wash and thought how pretty the brushes looked hitting the windshield ...

In this shot I saw some images - a penguin and a bat...

I am an endless source of amusement for myself.
