Sepia Scenes: Happy Halloween

I shared some of our outdoor Halloween decor for Ruby Tuesday so I thought ...

I would share some of the indoor stuff for SEPIA SCENES. The color of these decorations and the morning light in my house just made them seem a natural.

I hope you all have a Happy and Fun Halloween.

Be a kid again, it's good for you.

Good morning, Diane. Nice to meet you through Sepia Scenes. Love your Halloween photos, especially the pumpkin against the arched window. The contrast is so rich and strong.

I have no memory of where I found my photo header so I can't give proper attribution to it. But I agree, I would love to live in the window too.

A pumpkin at the arched window, is it a natural color? It's look natural to me :).
Nice preparation for Halloween though.

and thanks for your precious comment at my SS earlier.

These are wonderful Dianne! I love the little white pumpkin - the linen under it really suits this tone.
They are all worthy of standing on their own. I keep going back to look at them. :)

annie - I'm thrilled you like the pumpkin in the window - I worked on that one for a bit - warmer/cooler, grain/no grain and the light from the window was tricky. thanks!! I feel encouraged

ellen - one n short LOL
my whole life I have had to spell it, explain it - the nuns in school made me take out the extra n, said it just wasn't correct. imagine that!!
thanks for caring :)

leora - she's a centerpiece and does have a sweet face, thanks!!

bintang - I warmed the color up a bit since the light from the window washed it out and then I added some grain to hide the pumpkins dents - it fell off the window one night, must be a drinker ;)
thanks for coming by!!

carletta - thanks so much!! the white pumpkin is my DIL's Lenox collection. We have an outlet near us and we go after every holiday. up to 75% off !!

Your decorations really look great in sepia. I especially like the composition of the half-moon window and the pumpkin. Very nice.

Very pretty. I especially like the pumpkin in the window too. How neat that you have your house decorated too. Halloween is one of my favorites, and yet I have zero decortations this year. *pouts* (Unless you count my pumpkin scented candle-lol).

You have some great Halloween decorations! That second one, the pumpkin in the window, looks especially good in sepia.

Mojo said...

Those are truly cool! I especially like the first two -- they just scream to be sepia'ed(?)

Dianne said...

askew - thanks!! I really worked on that one. I think I learned 10 things that I then forgot LOL

cherie - candles count!!
Happy Halloween Lady :)

mymaracas - thank you so much :)

mojo - sepiated? maybe - LOL
thanks a lot!! I love the light in the first one. that room first thing in the morn is a joy!

Love your Halloween indoor decoration! particularly the pillows.
All these pics look wonderful in sepia!
Glad you knew about the panellets, they are so familiar to me I never thought of them looking like brains, lol.

Love your decorations, both inside and out. You do it up right!

Sherrie said...

Do I detect a festival soon? Nice photos.

Dianne said...

mar - the cats love those pillow too :)
the moment the pillows come out the cats claim them
my nephew calls the panellets brains so the reaction of others didn't surprise me. :)

bobbie - my DIL loves Halloween as much as I do so now I have decorating back-up!!

sherrie - the pillows are very cuddly and brighten up the room, thanks :)

ilanadavita - we truly love Halloween around here ;)
glad you like the photos!

Include me among those who love that pumpkin in the window. Very effective. And I love that last shot too. Fun stuff!

This was a perfect choice for sepia scenes! It has an aged look which I like. Well done!

I like your sepia Halloween. ;-)

I DO plan to be a kid again...or should I admit I plant to continue being a kid. (Why grow up? I've managed all these years without doing so!)

The sepia enhances the Halloween decor, Dianne! I love it! Great Sepia Scenes posts! :)

This is so cool - I need to learn how to do the sepia tones.

marLou said...

That's great you have lots of Halloween decorations. I only have a few unfortunately. Nice sepia tones!

I love the gourd in the window! The sepia colors add an eerie Halloween glow to all the items - even the smiley scarecrow...

I love those cushions - they're so cute!

I love that last one - the angle and the light really work well together.

Dianne said...

hilary - thanks :)
I'm really pleased with my pumpkin in the window

kahshe - thank you so much!!

your eg - I'm with ya! My inner child is living large.

mary - thanks. I'm going to try some sepia with tomorrow's costumes. :)

jientje - thank you! we've been collecting them for years

pink - Mary gives tips each week at the Sepia Scenes main site. Most of what I do is in Picasa - I convert to sepia and then play around with warmify or light contrast or whatever. Picasa is pretty easy to figure out and free !!

marlou - a lot or a little - as long as it's fun. been collecting for years - 35+ :)

ralph - an eerie glow - cool!! I like that.

jackie - you'd have to fight with the cats to get near them, they're very cuddly.

robin - thank you!! I moved her all over the room til I found that spot.

Oh, Dianne...these are absolutely FABULOUS!!!

As you know, I'm a Fall and Halloween freak, so all these photos just give me the BEST warm FUZZY inside!

And the Sepia adds a "special something" to them.

Especially LOVE the second photo down!!

You're so talented, dear lady.

You've got a great eye for the camera!

BRAVA!

Thanks for sharing!

And have the BESTEST Happy Halloween!

Love all these shots with the various tones of sepia!

These work so well in sepia carrying a bit of a nostalgic touch as well. Happy Halloween!!

Dianne said...

ron - sepia is the warm and fuzzy tone isn't it. I'm so glad you liked the pumpkin in the window, a lot of people did which makes me happy since I fussed with it forever :)

napaboaniya - we're all ready!! got tons of candy too ;)

gattina - the colors are mostly muted beiges and oranges and browns that's why I thought it would be so good for sepia.

greyscale - I never realized how much you can do with sepia until I started experimenting and follwing some of Mary's suggestions

me ann - thanks!! the little girl scarecrow thingie lol is quite old, my DIL had it since she was a child.

I love pictures done in sepia. I find them comforting which I know sounds odd! Halloween is my favorite holiday becasue it does allow us to let the child within come out to play - something we should all do more often!

sonia a. mascaro said...

Great photos!

Dianne said...

deb - I don't think that's odd at all, I feel the same way. The warmth of sepia tones and the older, nostalgiic feel is very comforting.
I had a great time last night giving out candy. One little boy 18 months old, dressed as Mickey Mouse, walked right into the kitchen, plopped himself down on the floor and announced "Juice?"

sonia - thank you! and welcome to the photo blog :)
