Hey I especially like the 'question mark' shaped shadow in the second photo! These are great. Happy first time. Again ;)Have yourself a wonderful Sunday :)
You find the most interesting things to post! This one is great!
I was wondering how it was standing there in the hall without leaning against the wall and then I saw it had feet! Ha! Great Shadow Shot, Dianne! I'm participating for the first time in this meme! :)
Great shots! Thanks for sharing.I have one up this week too.
Dianne, these are great. I especially like the first one.
This is a very interesting picture!! Shadows are so neat.
Now that is neat..What a great shadow. Isn't it amazing where we see shadows, when we start looking?Happy SSS..
Wicked cool! My first impression was of some sort of friendly snake or inch worm. Then, I thought it might be some dental device. Now, I'm thinking it might be a balancing tool of some sort. What is it? What is it? :D
Okay, so I can't read. Sue me! I looked three times before I posted; I swear! LOLOLOL
Really great shadow shots! I love that they are close up and so strong.
Hi Dianne! Very interesting. The first and third photo look like a question mark. The second photo has an eerie feel to it. I love it. Lisa

How cool is that...what we see when we open our eyes wide.
Cool shots. I love shadow photos.

I took about 10 shots and then played a bit, these were my favorites.crystalchick - I've always been a sucker for shadows LOLnow it's fun to find new ones :)rosebud - I had passed it in the hall a million times and then I saw it ;)cherie - I love all your guesses!!! far more interesting than an old cane lolalissa - thank you - it is a very narrow hall and the light was so strong, just a perfect shadow momentlisa - the sun was out for a moment in the second one and then I warmed the light, it is eerie - which of course I enjoy loltina - thanks for coming by. I'm running so late this week on everythingglad you like the shadows :)sweet - I had a teacher who would always say - 'stop looking and start seeing' - shadows make me think of him raven - thanks!!
Very ‘kewl’ shadow shot today … it fits so well with your blog theme doesn’t it?Hugs and blessings,
Such fun searching for those elusive shadows.Yours are winners.
Nice shapely neck...he needs a break and some big eyes! lol:D Neat shot!
I think I NEED one of them... but I'm in denial.
Beautiful SSS..very clear and nice :D
storyteller - so many questions, so little time :)elizabeth - thanks!!lisa b - he did remind me of a swan at one point ;)melli - ever since I tore up my ankle I have a new respect for the power of a cane!m.kate - thanks!!
That turned out to be one of the most fun shadow shots i've seen in a while. Happy SSS to you!
It is amazing how inanimate objects seem to have a personality of their own. Great angles and shadows.
We thought it looked like a snake at first too....then we saw what it was and laughed....our kids loved playing with our grandmother's cane so much that she never knew where it was half the time!
Perhaps a Fiddlehead fern, throwing a shadowy suggestion of spring on the wall; but no, just a wishful thought on my part. Shadows have a wonderful extension of reality about them. Very nice.
amy - thanks!! glad you thought it was fun :)summer kitchen - it's funny, my cat Siren is really afraid of the cane with feet. all I have to do is move it an inch and he takes off!! yet he plays with the other standard cane. I guess the feet make the difference. me ann - 'extension of reality' is a great way to describe the allure of shadows!
It's great how everyday objects make for such interesting shadows.
Fantastic ss, thanks for your comments on my first sss.
Dianne, come by my blog to read a letter to Barack Obama by Alice Walker, the author. I promise you'll love it! :)
Wonderful photos of the cane's shadow. The first one looks like a snake that has been charmed. The second one looks like a questionmark and the third one .. kinda creepy looking for some reason.
I love the mood of these pictures, Dianne. It's always challenging to effectively capture shots with such deep shadows, but you've made it look easy here. You have such an eye for composition!
That's a great shadow shot, Dianne. I especially like the middle one - it has a snake-like appearance that's mysterious as well as daunting. It commands respect, somehow. I hope that makes some sort of sense to someone else besides me! :-)Hugs
olga - it is :) that's why I love shadows, makes the ordinary extraordinarymagical - you're welcome! I loved your first SS and look forward to many more :)mary - I will!! I love Alice Walkerpatti - a lot of people think the 2nd one is creepy LOLisn't it cool how everyone sees something different, another reason I love photography.carmi - thank you so much!! I struggle over my editing and I question myself and just genrally make myself artistic nutso so to receive such a lovely compliment is so wonderful.pagan - makes sense to me and that's what counts LOLI like the 2nd one because I played with the light so much abd actually got the feel I wanted. a tiny victory :)
Very cool shadow pics. It kind of reminds me of my cats' "gonna feed me?" tail.
hilary - oh yes!! the feed me tail, I know it well :)
oooh...Dianne...I've got to tell you....I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these shots!I'm a big lover of old movies, and these shots remind me of all those wonderful shadow images you see in those films.AWESOME, dear lady!
Nice shadows Dianne, the first is my favourite, the way the light is highlighted on the stick, well done:0)
