Creative Photography & Sepia Scenes

I don't know what it is about this sign but I couldn't stop playing with its photo.

I already posted it for Ruby Tuesday (see previous post)

And here it is for SEPIA SCENES ...

And here are all its cousins for CREATIVE PHOTOGRAPHY...

Sometimes I'm like a dog with a bone.

It does have appeal.. and I'm a sucker for messing with colours too. But can I close now, please? ;)

I really like these. Each one really gives a different feeling.

Haven't you been having fun!

I like the sepia - takes me back to the 60's and early 70's with the feel it has. (My Mom was a waitress.)

It's Andy Warhol! I love all the different colors. I would love to see four of them in a single composition.

I never thought of playing with the colors in a photo..looks very neat..

I think you had loads of fun creating new atmospheric effects with that sign! Amazing what can be done!

But I am especially partial to the sepia version, simply because it also highlights some interesting shadowy shapes as well!

you are such a welcoming person! :D
i had fun looking at all of them.

hilary - yes you may close now - don't encourage me or I'll be out looking for closed signs ;)

kay - I'm glad! I was hoping to accomplish that.

carletta - I did a bit of table waiting back in the day - I was hopeless - always dropping stuff. it is a really hard job.

magiceye - thanks!! you're cool ;)

cherie - picnik was having some kind of a fit and it was getting late - I did want to try a collage and I also wanted to try bleeding one into another and trying different pairings - damn internet!

rambling - I have so much fun! I can't draw or paint at all so this is what I do
try picnik.com
it's free
you don't have to download software
just upload a photo and play
they have some fun 'create' options

greyscale - I was catching reflections of the trees behind me in the glass and then the folds of the curtain and the sun made those really pretty to me
and this was all from my parked car across the lot!

gmj - what can I say! I'm a very OPEN person ;)
glad it was fun, thank you

I love that comment 'sometimes I'm like a dog with a bone.' I think I like it in sepia best, but you know it is fun seeing it in all the ways you show us.

I often will do a photo in B&W and in sepia, and then sometimes post both, sometimes post neither, or sometimes one to one blog and the other to another blog.

I've had that happen with certain photos too. A few weeks ago Mary suggested a sepia portrait and I posted a crop of a photo I took of a local singer. When I was looking through my archives later, I realized that I had about two dozen other variations on that very same photo that I'd done almost a year ago.

Sometimes one gets under your skin like that and there's nothing you can do but go with it.

Nive variation, each with a different effect on the viewer.

ilanadavita - thanks!! I was hoping for that

mary - I managed to not say like a bitch with a bone ;)

Dianne,
This is wonderful. I really, really like it when someone plays with photos and then shares the results. Very cool!

Dianne said...

your EG - thanks!! that makes me feel good since I love to play and share :)

What fun with color! I like the sepia best though.

Oooh NEAT! I usually like sepia too, but in this set it's actually the second one that's drawing me in.

All those colors will definitely capture curiosity from passer-bys if they're displayed at stores :P
Creative use of those different colors!

Dianne said...

sherrie - thanks!

dot - it was fun. the sepia does seem the most popular. I thought of you and tried it in B&W but it didn't work

crystalchick - my acid trip version ;)

napaboaniya - maybe I should take the pics to the store owner lol
it's a small Chinese restaurant and the owner is a very tiny very old lady - wonder what she'd think of some of these ;)

Sometimes it's just plain FUN to take an image like this and SEE what happens with the various filters. I know I've done it with photographs from time to time. I found the color changes intriguing ;--)
Hugs and blessings,

This sort of thing could wreck TrueColoursThurs - just have one picture and change it weekly... ?
On second thoughts, I think not.

I like the second from the top, the sort of Hippie Neon. It has the aura of tie-dye and is my favorite!

(I am dating myself here!)

Linda said...

Very cool! I like the last one best - the black and blue!

Dianne said...

storyteller - exactly! just plain fun ;)

gattina - what a fabulous motto that would be :)

aileni - heavens NO!!! that would be awful - this was only fun to see them all together. as I'm taking a shot I'm looking for the next - the world is that huge and has so much to see :)

Blue - I'm so glad I found ya! I love your blog
and it's hilarious that I didn't even know I was playing True Colors lol

ralph - I like that one too for the very same reason so I guess I'm dating me as well
maybe we should date each other?
oh wait - Patti - never mind! hehehehehe

linda - I like that one for the purple-ish hue and because the folds in the curtains look like icicles
