Ruby Tuesday & Creative Photography: Red Sky Over Dah Bridge

After my friend CHERIE noticed all the antennas on top of the Verrazano I started playing with the photo to make them stand out more.

And this is what happened ...

It made me think of a fantasy or sci-fi movie.

Sepia Scenes & Creative Photography: At the Party

These are a few scenes from the Birthday Party in Brooklyn that I attended this past Sunday. I picked those that lent themselves to SEPIA SCENES.

There can never be too much food ... This is the cocktail hour station that included a brick oven where any pizza with any topping was made for you - right in front of your eyes.

The main room leads out to a deck. During the summer there are colorful fountains and masses of flowers out on the deck. This party was limited to immediate family and friends - so there were only 10 tables like this - not counting the head table. And that floor was made for dancing.

Each room has skylights. Some with chandeliers.

If the amazing food and music and company wasn't enough - there was a giant party favor box for each guest. I'll open it and post a photo another day. It's fun to wonder what's in there for a few days.

And because I must see everything in some shade of purple I have added this ...

... as my long overdue contribution to CREATIVE PHOTOGRAPHY

Creative Photography & Sepia Scenes

I don't know what it is about this sign but I couldn't stop playing with its photo.

I already posted it for Ruby Tuesday (see previous post)

And here it is for SEPIA SCENES ...

And here are all its cousins for CREATIVE PHOTOGRAPHY...

Creative Photography: Oh Deer !!

Yesterday (for RUBY TUESDAY) I showed you the front of my house.

Today I'd like to share the rest - this part is set back from the front and I couldn't figure out a way to get the whole thing in one shot.

The top shot is as the camera saw it

Then my inner 'Prince' took over and I couldn't help but produce a little purple deer and some purple snow.

Please visit CREATIVE PHOTOGRAPHY - it's fun to share what we see after we get finished messin' with what the camera sees.

Creative Photography: Making Peace out of Darkness

My DIL was trying to take a photo of my peace sign earring - I was going to use it as part of Mimi's Peace posts. Of course it never occurred to us to take the earring off! As you can see it didn't quite come out although you can see my luxurious locks of hair and the beginning of an old lady's chin.

Never one to leave a bad shot alone I played with contrast and color and sharpened it to within an inch of its life. I like what came out. Very 60s funky.

Shadow Shots and Creative Photography

I have wanted to participate in Shadow Shots ever since I saw BOBBIE’S first post for the project. I love shadows; there is so much to be see in what’s not seen.

The Shadow Shots hostess Harriet makes these lovely collages from all the submissions.

So I finally got it together.

The ceiling fixture in my son’s dining room creates the most fantastic shadow art. Depending on other lighting factors you get very warm shadows or very cool shadows.

I created these two collages to show the difference. I did nothing to help that purple shot along. I forget what other lights were on but that color is there on its own.

Maybe it’s my aura splattering all over the ceiling? My DIL would say so.

I’m also going to post this as part of Creative Photography #15 – Week 1

I’m great at multi-tasking! Creatively ambidextrous even.

Please visit both SHADOW SHOTS and CREATIVE PHOTOGRAPHY.

Check out all the great photographs. And consider joining in!!
Especially if you do one and not the other – come on get busy.

It’s fabulous to be bi-project curious.

Don’t forget to vote Tuesday

Please drop by TODAY’S POST and let me know if you would like to be linked. All the info is there.

Creative Photography & Sepia Scenes

It’s been far too long since I posted for CREATIVE PHOTOGRAPHY.

And …

Today marks the first day of Mary’s newest photo project SEPIA SCENES.

So …

I decided to combine.

I took this shot this summer at a church fair. I loved the flowers and the shadow of the cross.

I then played a bit with cropping and sepia tone.

Please go by both CREATIVE PHOTOGRAPHY and SEPIA SCENES.
Check out the cool photographs.
Even better – join in.
All you need is any kind of a camera and an eye.
