Sepia Scenes: A Rose By Any Other Color ...

This is another rose from the same arrangement as the red rose in the Ruby Tuesday post below. I included the original too - I don't really like the 'too peachy' color of the original.

And to complete my rose series I posted a black and white version over at - THE WORLD IN BLACK AND WHITE. I can always hear my buddy Dot saying - "wonder what that would look like in black and white."

Take a moment to check out more SEPIA SCENES

Just gorgeous! I do think I like the deep, dark red the best though.

It seems like every photo I look at these days I ask the same question. No matter how colorful it is, I always wonder "What would that look like in B&W?"

Nice choice for sepia. Simple, elegant and timeless.

In sepia it almost looks like a white rose. Lovely.

robin - it does! and white roses are my favorite :)

I love the sepia. I like the original too but sepia looks so romantic. :)
I'm going over to check out the black and white.

I think I like this best in sepia though I did go look at the B&W--a tough choice if I was actually voting. But I do think the sepia wins just by a hair.

This rose looks good both ways, Dianne, But I think I prefer the sepia one.

Another gorgeous rose, Dianne! I like the sepia one a lot better than "peach/orange" one! :)

both of them are uniquely beautiful!

They are both lovely in their own way. I like how the sepia gives the rose a very vintage look.

carletta - it is romantic! :)

rose - I think so too :) the sepia is warmer

EG - sepia appears to be the winner :)

mary - the good thing is that the peach lent itself best to sepia. I tried sepia on the red and it was awful. and on a white rose I couldn't get the warm effect. but yeah - I really don't like the peachy rose.

babs - thanks!!

sherrie - this entire arrangement was one of the prettiest I've ever seen, I'm so glad I took shots of it

jackie - thanks :)

eki - exactly! the peach is too harsh. thanks for visiting me too :)

magiceye - thank you :)

JewWishes - that's my favorite thing about sepia :)

Lovely warm tinting for the orange rose, especially since orange doesn't have that much contrast in B & W.

How intriguing to see the various versions of this rose ... makes me want to do some experimentations on MY roses too.
Hugs and blessings,
