My New Neighbor

I am in the midst of selling my home and moving into an apartment complex.

I was there Sunday measuring for window treatments and met this fellow. 

He said hello.

I include the 2nd shot because the bird is so still and seems to be staring at the house; I find that so endearing

I was doing an errand in a town about 40 minutes south of me that I rarely visit. On the way home I made a wrong turn and became lost for a bit in the midst of streets with no names and dead ends.

Appreciate the World Around You

Since she was born I have always tried to show my granddaughter Hope all the wonders of the world around her. We go out to the yard and look at birds and insects and squirrels and talk about how they too have families and that they deserve to be happy and safe.

We were at a friend's house and Hope spent quite awhile watching a bird. When the bird flew off she waved and said "bye birdie, go home to Mommy"

I pulled over to the shoulder because I noticed a wee splash of color ...

It's Swing Time

I took this shot last fall ...

And then I promptly forgot about it until I passed this yard this weekend. There were clothes on the line and the trees were plump and the grass was green and a happily giggling child was in the swing with Dad pushing him while Mom corralled two other children who were chasing the dog across the lawn.

I didn't stop to take a shot, that's such a privacy no-no but the scene made me smile and remember this one.
