It's great to think that trees survive in cities. Your beautiful shot has the makings of a great play. You could call it "A Tree Grows in New Jersey" - or has that already been done?
I love this shot! So we both caught city tree shadows this week. Your tree shadows are bigger than mine. You win! ;D
Your shot reminds of that scene from Harold & Maude where Maude 'saves' a city tree by digging it up & taking it to the country. I have to say that I like your trees just where they are. They add charm!
hot fudge - I think Brooklyn already stole that idea ;)
harriet - I love that scene!! my tree may be bigger but your shots are always winners
bobbie - I stood on the corner for a while to get it, I wanted to go wider but there was a truck double parked just out of frame and these 2 guys were standing there scratching and staring at me
gallery - what a wonderful notion! I love it :)
sweet - this town does take good care of its trees - they even built the sidewalk around the tree
summer - thanks!! I love street scenes especially since they're so hard to capture
I really like that one! I love that you did it in black and white...very cool. I like the whole scene...just want to walk down that street and have a look in all the shops. Great shadow shot!
What a spooky tree shadow. I love your description of it taking over the intersection. I would think twice before driving over it. Reminds me of the Ents (talking, traveling trees) from Lord of the Rings.
Wow, that's a shadow WINNER. What a beautiful photograph, and an excellent choice to shoot (or change to) black and white. I love that we can shoot in color and switch easily to black and white if we want. In the old days, it was one or the other, pretty much. Great shot!
Yes... being in the right place at the right time can go a long way in capturing a great image... but you also need to have the eye to recognise the beauty... great photo.

This tree shadow in the intersection is terrific! How lucky to capture it with no traffic at that moment.
It's really beautiful.
Stunning tree shadow. Is a romance going on between these two trees? The street tree shadow seems to be reaching for the one in the background.
Tree looks like it's creeping in for a space to breath...all taken over by concrete...and man...
Nice catch!

Wow...there is so much movement in that shadow on the street! Wonderful!

This such a terrific shot! I think that black and white really catches shadows the best, and this one is perfect! Have a good day!
pRiya - I love B&W too, especially for street scenes - it adds to the gritty look - thanks so much
sylvia - thanks!! the color took away from the shadow, I'm glad I chose the B&W
Happy Sunday
That turned out beautiful in black and white. Great work!
Great movement in that shadow!
My favorite shadow this week! Thanks for sharing.
A scary but beautifully shot of yours. My daughter said, "looks like halloween" he he... B& W is so nice. I grew in this era.

Must have been a beautiful day to give such a clear, big shadow. Great shot!
Its a really nice "Main Street Americana" shot .. and that shadow only adds to the overall ambiance. I love this shot, Dianne.
What a great shadow. I love the town scene in black & white. Thanks for stopping by my blog. Have you have a great week!
For some reason the tree shadows were so vivid today in Manhattan too!
Is it something to do with the season?
