Window Views: Thou Shalt Not Covet The Cool Car

Think Green Thursday is on the other blog - just click the 'Fork Goddess' on the sidebar

I was waiting for Mia, the Katherine Hepburn of the cat world, to have her ultrasound and decided to go bird watch in the parking lot. So I'm sitting in my 1995 VW Jetta, resplendent in its scratches and dings and faded paint when I turn to my right and there it is ...

A cool car.

And just as I start to have a pity party, feeling as old and battered as my car, I see an overweight, middle-aged balding man walk over to the cool car. Beside him struts a poodle wearing pink bows and a diamond collar. As he lifts her to put her in the cool car he says - "Let Daddy wipe the mud Trixie, Mommy will kill him if you walk on the seats."

My life is good.

Nice view outside your window! But the car is missing a wheel cover.

Lew - Ha! count on a guy to notice that ;)
I just noticed a ding in the trim too LOL

LOL! The title caught my eye and the whole story had me laughing!

Yep! Definitely won't envy his life even if he has a cool car. :)

Nice entry and capture.

I'm not really a "car person" - but that machine has some nice lines... nice design!

I also like the bottom of the photo - I know instantly that the photo was taken inside a car... has a voyeuristic feel to it ;)

Loved the story that goes with this picture!!
Very different and unexpected window view, I love it!

I agree with Shey. Wonder how Mommy would react to the neighbor's cats' muddy little footprints all over it, like on my poor old car.

Cool window view! But poor guy. Your title suits this post perfect. Have a great day, Dianne :)

shey - thanks! glad you enjoyed, laughter is a good thing :)

manz - thanks for mentioning that aspect of the shot! I almost cropped it out but I liked the reflection of my purse in my window

jientje - thanks!!

bobbie - the poor guy looked so whipped LOL
your neighbor is awful, I'm so sorry for you and her cats

rosidah - poor guy indeed, I was so tempted to take a photo of himm and the dog but I never use people without their consent.

I don't know if I would drive a Mercedes if I were rich...possibly.

But I certainly don't envy that guy. Money doesn't buy happiness, or as Ralph says, money doesn't buy brains.

I'll stick with my 2003 Hyundai Elantra.

This was a fun post, Dianne!

Hahaha. My life is good, too (with my '04 Santa Fe :o) Sam travels in the back where there are no seats or carpet. He's allowed to enter dirty ;o)

How funny! I had to chuckle over the image in my mind of the middle-aged balding man with a poodle in a pink bow...that would make me run a mile! Sounds like the wife rules over both of them- although who knows which one of them dresses the poodle like that!
And the car looked so great...until then.
Loved this post! Will have to come back for more!

patti - I like to point out that money doesn't buy class ;)
2004 you say!? luxury!!!!

ivanhoe - Sam has a good Mom :)

bellamocha - I'm so glad you enjoyed your visit here! I aim to entertain ;)
look forward to seeing you again

daryl - I do love it, it's an important part of not jumping off a bridge ;)
Mia is doing OK, just a double check since I thought she seemed shakier than usual - but it's just her Kate Hepburn impersonation

It's great when we put things into perspective. You mad me giggle since I also drive a beat up old car. ;-)

Love your choice of window this week and love the story too!!

ROFL.

If it makes you feel any better my car isn't that much younger and is such a disaster most of the time that I wouldn't even notice muddy paw prints!

Great post! I had to laugh at the man, though I wouldn't be in that family for a million dollars! Poor guy.

Thanks for visiting and commenting! :)

Hahaha ! I noticed since long ago that the coolest car owners have the ugliest owners. In a beautiful red sports car sits usually a fat bold guy ! (with sun glasses !)

Sorry I meant "bald" of course !

Thanks for the good giggle!
I rather feel old and battered and drive an old and battered car than having to live with THAT :D!
