Ruby Tuesday: Where's Target?

I was stopped at a red light when the passenger of the car next to me asks ...

"Where's Target?"
"Right there thru the trees"
"Right there", I said pointing - "it's right there on the north side of the road"
"North side?"
"The side going in the opposite direction from us"
"How do we get over there?"
"Use the jug handle"
"The what?"
"See that little road there, it's the way to make a left. Just cut ahead of me and take that little road"
"We have to go right to go left?"
"Yes, there are no left turns around here"
"Because Jesus said so"
The driver was a young man. I assume I was talking to his girl friend. She was so flighty it was a wonder she didn't fly out the window.
I yell to the driver - "Did you hear a word we said?"
He laughs - "Just the Jesus part" - he is grinning ear to ear.
The light changes, I let him cut in front of me and he peels off into the jug handle flashing me a huge smile and a peace sign.
His girl looked confused.

I hope she found what she was looking for at Target.

I stopped at the exact same spot and had to take this shot...

That is too funny. Good one.

On Target, you could say. The words are distorted, the symbol says it all. Love those 'All Turns From Right' signs in NJ!

I used to work at Target at evenings - fun place to shop when they have clearance!

I am still chuckling. Brilliant answers. I really had to feel for that poor guy. His day was just beginning with her and he may even had to go home with her. Hopefully there was something she was good at to compensate.

OH. MY. GAWD. I met her father in Florida .. I swear .. I was w/my friend Marilynn (who you would LOVE) and we've been detoured and are unsure which way is North ... so we see this man and I roll down the window .. I ask (NICELY) and point: Is that North? He looks at me, at where I am pointing and then just stands there ... I say LOUDER, still pointing: NORTH .. IS THAT NORTH? He continues to stare and now he looks puzzled .. I say even louder: NORTH, hello .. its the road going NORTH?

No reply but now he scratches his head .. I turn to Marilynn and say, fcuk it, lets go if we're wrong we can turn around. It was north .. we got where we were going and we laughed all the way.

HOWEVER .. in NJ I am always laughing at going left to go right .. what a State

What a hoot.

But have to admit that I have never heard of a jug handle. Here they are called cloverleafs.

The story made me smile. Now I know what a jug handle is!

LOL! I hope that young man keeps track of his girl. She seems to be rather light in the head and it would be a shame if she floated away. ;)

That was such a fun read, Dianne!

That was an interesting conversation you had. I hope she found some common sense at Target. Oh, you can't buy it? Well she is out of luck.

I agree with our EG Tour Guide, it was a fun read. ;-)

Can you tell it is early Saturday morning and I can't sleep?
That was a neat story, I hope they got what they were coming for. No telling what would happen if they needed directions for Kohl's.
I hope your RT was happy, this was great!
I am up early because I couldn't sleep. I killed my old computer last night trying to take Norton off. Mrs. Jim has glomed onto th is one because hers is in Illinois being repaired, warranty I'm glad.
