Camera Critters: Snow Birds

During a lull in one of our many snowstorms these birds came out to see what the trees might have to offer. They were swooping and calling to each other. I realized my neighbor was filling the feeders and calling to them.

Siren was fascinated.

I love to watch them when they all get together like that. So busy!

Great photos, they seem to hang in large flocks.

Lots of birdies to feed!
I love to watch my cat hunch like she's going to pounce on the outside birdies. Does Siren make a clucking noise at them? My Heidi does.

Looks like the flock of starlings I had. I posted an upclose one today. Noisy and mean birds they are!

The poor little things with all this snow it's hard to find some food !

Sirene also makes a "periscope neck" hahaha ! such a cute picture ! Does she also "chirp" when she sees birds ? My cats do.

I can almost see Siren licking her lips... Poor birds need feeding during a harsh winter.

I'll bet Siren was!!!

Lovely pics babe.

mmmm...snowbird eh? Reminds me of....erm....um...ah yes!

Anne Murray I believe...

Beneath it's snowy mantle cold and clean,
The unborn grass lies waiting for its coat to turn to green.
The snowbird sings the song he always sings,
And speaks to me of flowers that will bloom again in spring.
When I was young my heart was young then, too.
And anything that it would tell me, that's the thing that I would do.
But now I feel such emptiness within,
For the thing that I want most in life's the thing that I can't win.

Spread your tiny wings and fly away,
And take the snow back with you where it came from on that day.
The one I love forever is untrue,
And if I could you know that I would fly away with you.

The breeze along the river seems to say,
That he'll only break my heart again should I decide to stay.
So, little snowbird, take me with you when you go,
To that land of gentle breezes where the peaceful waters flow.

Spread your tiny wings and fly away,
And take the snow back with you where it came from on that day.
The one I love forever is untrue,
And if I could you know that I would fly away with you.
Yeah, if I could I know that I would fly away with you.
