Sky Wake

I know they're called contrails but I have always called them sky wakes. They're not particularly good for the earth and there are stories out there that some chemical contrails are being manufactured with the intention of some sort of evil.

But they sure are purdy.

It was late late afternoon when I took the first 3 shots and then the sun seemed to just drop from the sky. It was the quickest sunset I have ever experienced but it did give me the last shot.

Happy Contrails To You All

They are gorgeous! We've had so many of them around here lately, same colors and same texture and sometimes they seem different from the ones I've seen in the past???? Who knows?? Hope your week is going well, Dianne! Hugs to you and Hope!

I like taking pics of contrails, too, but mine aren't this good. And I hadn't heard about the possibility of them being evil, oh noooo.

Di -- those contrails just make beautiful patterns. I've not heard the conspiracy theories about them before -- I think I'll keep ignoring them and just enjoy! Signed/Ostrich ;>)

Hey Dianne, is the sky very blue in New Jersey? These pictures are pretty.
When I did Skywatching posts I would call these "Sky Pollution" pictures. :)

Be sure and give Hope a big (((HUG))) for KP and me. :)

And Happy MidWeek Blues!

The afternoon light does change very quickly this time of year, doesn't it? You were quick to capture it. It's beautiful!

I've never heard about dangerous chemicals in contrails! Hmmm. Nothing is safe anymore, is it?

The clouds with the contrails make such an interesting sight. Especially in the 2nd to last photo - it is a great combo of the two.

Careful or the Air Force will show up and ask why you took those photos! Which by the way are super! ;-)

Love the next to last one, with the lines ending at the clouds - very interesting.

Beautiful but deadly, Dianne? "Remind you of anyone?" LOL! I think my favorite is the second photo--it's a very striking composition.

Wonderful contrail captures! Or sky wakes, if you prefer.

I hope those stories about contrails containing evil intent are not true! We've got enuf to worry about.

We had some awesome contrails during the month of November too. Must be the colder temperatures that cause them to be so much more sustained in the sky.

Great shots!
