Fashionable History

I noticed the facade of this building and tried to do some research on it. All I could find was ...

Temple of Fashion
Built in 1894 by Mrs. E. Weis, a milliner (hatmaker), after two of her rented stores were destroyed by fires.

That's some fancy and good looking brick work! Great shots and hope at some time you can locate more information on the bldg.

What a beautiful building. Hat making must have been fairly lucrative. Well, it seemed as everyone wore hats then, men and women. I love the colors of this building and the lighting. I love old buildings and old building signs.

Love the colors against your gorgeous sky!
You really captured the intricate details in your photos.
The building has been well taken care of to have been built back that long ago. Wouldn't Mrs. Weis be proud it was still standing!

That is one beautiful building Di. It seems like such an iconic building there should be the history of it written down somewhere. But that kind of info seems to disappear over time.

Nice building Dianne. They did things pretty back in the earlier days.
I wonder what the building is used for now?

It's a grand building for a millinery business - or perhaps it's a museum. I love the details you've highlighted in your photos.
