Long Late Day Shadows

Taken at an old farm house near me ...

Are those rose petals littering the porch? Such colorful debris!

IF I HAD A SHADOW

If I had a shadow as big as the sky,
I never would fear, and I’ll tell you why:

My shadow would save me from dragons and things
That fly in the night with terrible wings;

My shadow would keep me away from the beast
That sniffs in the west and sniffs in the east

Hungry for children who play all alone,
Hoping to feast upon blood, upon bone;

My shadow would be my protector and knight
To keep fear at bay, to banish all fright.

I’m so glad my shadow is always nearby,
Though it’s not nearly as big as the sky!

I love the look of a covered porch, a place to view the world in any weather (wish we had one!). The lattice effect of the railings is artistic and cool. Neat farm!

Lovely angles and a case where the shadows are a better picture than the original!

this old farmhouse looks well-renovated and preserved. I wouldn't mind sitting a spell on this porch. the long shadows remind me of autumn - the leaves on the trees too! these are exquisite shadow shots. I always like lines in photos, and these are wonderful. happy SSS to you Dianne.

Great shadow shot. That porch looks like a lovely place to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee or a cool drink. Growing up it was a common thing for my family to gather sometimes in the morning and sometimes in the evening on the front porch and talk about our day. Good memories!

These are great shots! I love what shadows add to photos and usually it's rather hard to find them! Nice work Dianne.
