Grand Old Homes

I've been taking more and more "wrong turns" off my usual beaten path of errands.

On this day I decided to see where a narrow side street I've passed many times led ...

Dianne, Dianne, Dianne, I can't tell you enough how much I LOVE these photos!

OMG...they're freakin' STUNNING!

And what LOVELY homes they are!

You know, this is one of the things I missed terribly when I lived in South Florida - you just don't see stunning architecture like this!

Happy Monday, dear lady!

X ya!

If I lived in town I'd so want that first one. Such lovely detail and character.
Photographed beautifully Dianne!
I think you should keep taking those wrong turns. :)

The character and style of these Victorian homes is to behold! The gingerbread trim is wonderful, the many different bold colors so different, so nice. Today, vinyl siding and fake stucco are usual - without the many charming details on these houses. Progress and style do not often go together...

A wise decision! These houses are lovely. I especially like the first one with all the gingerbread details. I've got house envy now. ;)

O those are pretty homes! I am sure they cost a small fortune each to buy. Then another small fortune to keep up and/or restore.
They are sooooo nice, I would live in either!

Happy MidWeek Blues and
((((HUGS)))) to Hope!

What adorable houses! I love making wrong turns that end up with finds. Sometimes I make wrong turns on purpose, but them I guess they aren't wrong turns them.

Both houses are exquisite! But since you posted two, I like the first one the most! The wrong turn ended up being the right turn for a post:)

Gorgeous detail on both these grand old mansions. Put the present day McMansions to shame. Your photos are wonderful, Dianne.

I always try to explore one new street each time I go to town. But, one like this would have had me parked and walking. It would have also made me late getting home.

I so enjoy visiting these old houses. What a tale they could tell if walls could actually talk.
