The Pink Lady

An old home in a town near me.

The destruction all around me due to Hurricane Sandy is a constant heartache. I keep finding out about another place that is gone.

I decided to take some comfort in the places that survived.

This old gal is one of the survivors.

Yes, we take comfort in things that endure. . . like friends, and our joy at "rain on red!"

Beautiful. I find it amazing that anything survived. I am so glad your place was also spared. Hugs to Hope

I was sure that this post was going to be alcohol related. ;) I love Victorian houses with large porches and lots of gingerbread details. :)

I absolutely love the photo of this house. I have 'pinned' it as a reminder to use it as a prompt for a future art/writing project. Thanks for the inspiration!!

I think those old homes were built so much better back in their day, but this one is amazing compared to so many that were totally destroyed! Terrific capture of a lovely old home! I'm so glad it survived! Hugs to Hope and you! Have a good week!

You know, I got very emotional reading this post, Dianne. To me homes, especially old ones, contain life. Therefore whenever I walk through one, I can feel all the energy within the walls.

STUNNING photo!

X and hugs to you and Hope!

That place hung in there really well.

It's hard to imagine that Sandy's devastation still lingers. So sorry for everyone. It must be a comfort for you to see this beautiful place still standing.

Causes one to wonder doesn't it? She's definitely a survivor but I wonder why. (I mean, she deserves to be a survivor, she is beautiful, but you just wonder why one house does so good and another is just gone.)
