An old home in a town near me.
The destruction all around me due to Hurricane Sandy is a constant heartache. I keep finding out about another place that is gone.
I decided to take some comfort in the places that survived.
This old gal is one of the survivors.

Yes, we take comfort in things that endure. . . like friends, and our joy at "rain on red!"

Beautiful. I find it amazing that anything survived. I am so glad your place was also spared. Hugs to Hope
I was sure that this post was going to be alcohol related. ;) I love Victorian houses with large porches and lots of gingerbread details. :)
lovely gingerbread
I absolutely love the photo of this house. I have 'pinned' it as a reminder to use it as a prompt for a future art/writing project. Thanks for the inspiration!!
it's very pretty and awesome that it survived.
wow. she's marvelous. i can only imagine the heartache because i couldn't imagine being there...
A magnificent house! I wish more survived in New Jersey.
I think those old homes were built so much better back in their day, but this one is amazing compared to so many that were totally destroyed! Terrific capture of a lovely old home! I'm so glad it survived! Hugs to Hope and you! Have a good week!
You know, I got very emotional reading this post, Dianne. To me homes, especially old ones, contain life. Therefore whenever I walk through one, I can feel all the energy within the walls.
STUNNING photo!
X and hugs to you and Hope!
That place hung in there really well.
It's hard to imagine that Sandy's devastation still lingers. So sorry for everyone. It must be a comfort for you to see this beautiful place still standing.
Oh it must be..I am so sorry.. but she is beautiful and she's pink which is a good thing in my mind..
That's a beautiful home.
The soft pink is adorable and I love those windows.A charming house for sure!
Léia and little LUNA
How beautiful! It looks like a full scale dollhouse. Gorgeous!
I love what Ron said. This house is so beautiful and you captured it perfectly. I'm so sorry that Sandy destroyed so much around you. That must be so hard. How wonderful that this one survived.
I very much like the light in this photo. I'm glad it survived.
What a beauty!
And luck was with her!
I'm glad she survived. What a beauty!
Causes one to wonder doesn't it? She's definitely a survivor but I wonder why. (I mean, she deserves to be a survivor, she is beautiful, but you just wonder why one house does so good and another is just gone.)
