Shadow Shots: Shopping and more Shopping

Seems like I end up at the grocery far too often, especially with Thanksgiving coming and many hungry people headed to my door.

I found these shadows in the Stop N' Shop parking lot early one morning.

Wow this is such a cool idea for pictures. Every week I'm finding more and more ideas. I think I may have to try this some time

I really like the last shot with the one wheel up in the corner, gives your imagination a hint.

These shots are super. I'm into the second one most. I love to devour Stop n Shops own line of steamed dumplings - check them out!

Hello! I'm with Bobbie. I love the cart shadow.

Ah. You have a Stop N' Shop? We used to and Shoprite bought them out. Beings we have a Shoprite down the street, they closed the Stop N'shop. I was very disappointed. They had the best muffins, lunch meat and produce. Lisa

rosebud - I know exactly what you mean - all these different photo projects are really helping me see things

bob-kat - thanks, I love the lines too :)

just me - it's especially easy in the morning when only a few people give you strange looks lol

raven - thanks :)

sweet - thank you, I cropped that one a few different ways and liked this the best

richie - thank you!! your post today was lovely :)

bobbie - thanks, I love the lines - your tall shadow was great, you and mary are twins this week

alissa - thanks
I love steamed dumplings but have never seen them at my place, I'll have to look harder ;)

cherie - thanks!! my DIL got the turkey this morning for $5!!!
20 lb bird for $5 - she turned in all her Shoprite points lol
so of course she spent the savings on Pyrex dishes

lisa - we have everything - there is a Pathmark, a Stop N' Shop and a Shoprite within 5 minutes and they're opening a Food Town in a few months. and there's even more choices within a few added miles. when we first came here from NY I was fascinated by all the choices, I grew out of that lol

hey harriet - bringing my camera with me everywhere really makes errands more fun :)

If these shadows were devoid of such things as wheels and paint stripes, the objects would not be obvious - the shopping cart without its wheels could be a cages; the shadow alone could be of a mountain with the sun behind it...Or an amorphous shadow of a blob.

Now I'm thinking of shadows!

I love how your eye catches these moments. Moments most of us would not be present for. Thanks for the reminder.

pink - I like the color of the last one the best :)
thanks!!

michelle - thank you!! that's a really cool thing to say. I owe a lot of it to all these photo memes, they really awaken my creative spirit and all the people who participate are so supportive and complimentary.

It's interesting on each post how the mind fills out the rest of the photo even though it only includes a suggestion of each. What we see and what the mind interprets become indistinguishable.

Hey! nice shots! I really like the first one - simple lines - looks great!

Dianne said...

robert - that is one of the things I love about photography :)

ali - thanks, I like simple lines :)

I like these photos a lot, especially the second one.
I spend way too much time at the food store too, but I really don't mind. It's rather recreational, since I can't afford any other sort of shopping.

Now I'm going to be looking for shadows..I may have to play along!

It's just like looking for red stuff for Ruby Tuesday ~ just gets into your brain I guess.
