Creative Photography: Oh Deer !!

Yesterday (for RUBY TUESDAY) I showed you the front of my house.

Today I'd like to share the rest - this part is set back from the front and I couldn't figure out a way to get the whole thing in one shot.

The top shot is as the camera saw it

Then my inner 'Prince' took over and I couldn't help but produce a little purple deer and some purple snow.

Please visit CREATIVE PHOTOGRAPHY - it's fun to share what we see after we get finished messin' with what the camera sees.

Yeah, getting it all in one shot... that's the hazard of shooting a 1.6 crop body. Your wide angle lenses aren't so wide anymore. I just spent an obscene amount of money remediating that... delivery of my 17-55mm f/2.8IS zoom is expected in a couple of days. And no, I don't want to talk about how much it cost!

The purple snowflake is way cool. Actually, it looks pretty good in white too.

love your purple...it's fun to mess with those colors and i adore my little macbook with it's iphoto, so simple for dummies like me who need it that way.....thanks for sharing these, make me inspired to go looking for white lights and turn them blue and orange! ;)

Haha, your inner Prince. I love that line!

I love what you've shared here. It is fun to play with our photos!

I read your comment on Duchess Linda's blog about feeling kinda blah about the season and I hear ya!

It's overwhelming. I think we put too much pressure on ourselves.

I really didn't mean to have all those exclamation points in my comment.

I love your decorations. I would enjoy being in your neighborhood.

mojo - i could spend every dollar I have on photo equipment - easily :)
congrats on your bad ass lens
you should have seen me trying to get the whole house in the frame - with my cane no less and in the rain and dark. at one point I was climbing my car, then I almost sank into my neighbors lawn, falling on wet leaves - it was all pretty hilarious
I'm glad you like the snowflake - I made the shot blurry to get rid of that damn piece of plant

linda - I find it so relaxing - my version of painting :)
I look forward to seeing some funky colored lights from you

enigma - thanks!!

storyteller - I adore anything purple :)

patti - I love exclamations!!!! lol
I really feel for Linda and know exactly how she felt, I hope I made her feel better
I feel so bad because I'm so disappointed in how entitled my nieces and my DIL are behaving!! If you ask my son what he wants he says socks, he doesn't send you to Nordstrom and Saks
It is really upsetting me and I don't want to argue with her when she's pregnant

bobbie - I often dream that you and me and Lisa are all neighbors!! what a time we would have

I gave up on Photoshop for now but I love Picasa and Picnik and photobucket and my own Kodak software
you can't hurt anything :)

roger - oh marlboro man! how you do talk - makes me blush ;)

gattina - once I learned how to use the color picker there was no stopping me LOL

napaboaniya - thanks, I appreciate that

Beautiful in both colors. If you can't have real deer, these are a lovely substitute.

Your deer remind me of my back yard, except mine are brown and move around in between their coming and goings. They are such gentle appearing creatures. Happy Holidays! I like your snowman with the red hat too!

raven - we have lots of real deer - well no that's not true - there are lots of real deer one town over where they still have open space - I drive around at times to see if I can find them but they know to hide from us humans.

CG - thanks!! I love purple :)

meili - I will absolutely visit more often!! especially after the holiday and end of year crazy is over
glad you liked the photos - thanks :)

me ann - years ago - before I lived here - there was so much more open space and the farms hadn't been sold to make way for homes. My neighbor used to feed deer in his yard and there were horses down the road. wish I had been here then.

I forgot to congratulate you on your future grandmotherhood ;-)

That's wonderful news, Dianne. Ralph told me last week.

So that would be Purple Rein if the deer actually had reins attached, right?!?

I love the light-up deer, I think they're actually one of the best Christmas decorations invented in the modern age!

Dianne said...

patti -thanks so much!!

linda - 'Purple Rein' - love it!
I agree about the deer decorations - they're so pretty.
