Looking at the Sky on Friday: Hittin' the Road

I took a drive the other day to clear my head. One of my favorite things to do is drive (a bit too fast) with the windows open and the radio blasting. Hard to do in winter and the thrill is a bit watered down by traffic and having a middle-aged responsible driver mentality.

But it still has its moments ...

I caught the sky at the marina.

And the sky followed me home. Imagine that.

Take a drive by Tisha's place for more LOOKING AT THE SKY ON FRIDAY

Nice sky ...

Used to turn up the heater, the radio set to WMCA and open the window WIDE ... didnt matter where I was going ... just the freedom, the air rushing by ... ah .. thanks for the memories .. next time, swing by and pick me up ...

daryl - I haven't been to Manhattan in so long - I'm having withdrawal!!

patti - it stayed clear until I opened the door to the house lol!
then there was the mail - paper and voice and e - and it all came back again OY!!

tisha - it was below freezing at the marina. I wanted to take more shots but my hands were numb lol
I am so ready for spring

I hear you...I work at home too, and get emails on two accounts, but (fortunately) cannot retrieve my voice mails so I get to just check Caller ID

I'm not much for having the cold wind blowing through the car but when it's warmer I love to open the sun roof and let the blue skies in. The one good thing about winter is that we do get some beautiful blue skies but beyond that, I am more than ready for it GO AWAY!!

I love that shot at the marina. That was so nice of the sky to follow you home so you could continue to enjoy it.

patti - OY for the caller ID too!! these bill collectors are getting so creative lol

linda - I'm ready for it to go away too although the cold air is OK with me - it's the endless melt and re-freeze that is making me nuts - my driveway is always a skating rink and of course it's on a slope and of course my car is always at the bottom seeing as how my son and his wife are majestic and I'm just sludge ;)

anna - thanks!! I made sure to thank the sky and it keeps coming back ;)

bobbie - thanks!! :)
I'm always trying new angles

I love that the sky followed you home! I had a middle-aged driver mentality from the moment I first sat behind the wheel. I'm a fuddy-dud before my time! Hahaha!

Beautiful! I especially like that second shot. Somehow on these winter days the blue extra wonderful when it shows up!

Beautiful skies here today ... resembling the cloudy skies here in So Cal today ... I shared sky collages at Happily Retired Gal and Sacred Ruminations today.
Hugs and blessings,

It's good to turn the radio up when a favourite song comes along.

I think you like the marina. I've seen quite a few shots from there. The water can have a calming influence too. ;)

I got to drive home watching an amazing sunset from start to finish, but the battery in camera was dead. (I know. I know. There's a sunset every night, but this one was special, you know. lol) I used the last of my battery earlier in the day trying to take pictures of some hill country in Oklahoma for Craig! LOL (Flat indeed! LOLOLOL)

raven - I like the blue too and the big fat clouds :)

storyteller - you had some very dramatic skies posted this week :)

magiceye - it has to be adventerous to follow me - I'm trouble ;)

jean-luc - it is!! a great stress buster

cherie - I like it a lot lately since it's so quiet. I always carry extra batteries
just sayin' LOLOLOLOLOL
I'm sure Craig would love some pics of some hills

You picked the right clouds to follow you home...the marina with the big boats and fair weather clouds might be a dream, but at least the marina's clouds followed you home. Who needs a yacht on the sea when this beautiful sky sits above your home?

Dear Dianne
It just seems, by looking at these pictures that I was along with you on that nice drive.
You are right. It surely clears your head!
When I was younger and Betty and I lived together in an apartment, after Mom and Dad Golden and the family had moved away to Wetland, I used to get so lonely, that I would catch a city bus and go rounds and rounds of riding. I would sit in the very back and open the window, stick my head out and enjoy the cold winter wind splashing on my face.
The colder the better!
And here I am old now and not being able to enjoy the cold!
Woe is me!
But I am not too old to be driving in my little red car with Southern Gospel music blaring as loud as my ears can stand and with windows wide open!
Bernie is a bad one for that Dianne.
In the hottest days of summer, he will put on Christmas music at a traffic light and with windows wide open and the song, "Let it Snow" just a blaring, we will watch for the funny expressions on the grouchy hot faces in the other cars!
One of these days I am afraid that the boys in the white jackets will come and collect that husband of mine and put him away!

Sorry for my long windiness,,
Have a great day.

As for me, I think I will catch an hour sleep before I have to take Mom Golden out for her doctor's appointment.
The last few weeks, I find that I can't stay awake for any length of time!
Getting old, I guess. The doctor says he might have to fix me up with a pace maker...I am not looking forward to that...Ha!
Catch you again. I have enjoyed this half hour or so visit with you Dianne.
I know I haven't been around for a while but quite often think of you and Siren and Mama Mia!!!...Love Terry
