Looking At The Sky On Friday: The Sun's Struggle

It was a gray day with on and off rain showers. Each time the rain stopped the sun would try to come out.

I love bare trees. There is so much drama and beauty in the way the branches reach and twist.

Looking At The Sky On Friday: Halloween Moon

The day got gray and rainy late Saturday afternoon - Halloween.

Then the moon appeared

It did a high wire act

Even the bees were amazed

Looking At The Sky On Friday: A Whole Lot Goin' On

I rarely see images in clouds so I'm always excited when I do.

This sky was right before yet another one of our many storms. I see so many stories in these clouds. Plus I love dark skies, the drama is delicious.

Looking At The Sky On Friday: Against The Wind

This is my last shot from the pretty town of Madison, NJ.

This strong and solitary creature lives on the building featured in the post below. It was a windy afternoon and I liked the way the clouds looked as though they were in a cotton candy machine.

Looking At the Sky On Friday: As Far As The Eye Can See

Standing there looking up at this made me feel that the world is infinitely beautiful and endlessly mysterious.

Nature does wonders for the spirit.

Looking At The Sky On Friday: All By Myself

This sweetie was the only cloud in the sky. When I came out of the store she was gone.

Looking At The Sky On Friday: Is It A Storm Yet?

I took these shots within a half hour, never more that 2 miles from home. I was doing errands and the sky was changing so fast I couldn't decide when to stop and go home.

Looking At The Sky On Friday: Mother Nature is Enough

I feel like I'm copying Tish. In her sky post this week she mentions that fireworks are pretty but natural beauty is best. Actually I had this post ready for last week and then never got around to posting, first time I missed LATSOF since it started.

But ya know, even if I am "copying off of" Tish - as the kids say - I only copy from the really smart, creative kids ;)

This was the view of the sunset on July 4 as I headed north on Route 9 in Freehold, NJ.

Looking At The Sky On Friday: The Morning After

There were severe thunderstorms here last Friday night. High winds, hail, sheets of rain. We lost power for 12 hours.

And then Saturday morning ...

One solo cloud was sitting there --- it was the only cloud I saw on my way to the store.

About an hour later all sorts of clouds were rolling inland from the bay.

Looking At The Sky On Friday: Picture Cloud

I rarely clearly see things in the clouds but the very first time I looked at this photo I saw ...

Looking At The Sky On Friday: Just A Wee Bit Damp

It has rained 15 out of the past 19 days. Even for someone who likes stormy weather that is a bit much. And it happens in the blink of an eye.

But the clouds are pretty ...

Looking At The Sky On Friday: RR Tracks In The Sky

On one of the last sunny days we had, it's been raining forever here, it seemed to me that the clouds were like railroad tracks - following me everywhere I went.

Poor "Mark" - why does he have to take care of the carts!?

Looking At The Sky On Friday: A Tip of the Lamp Post

When I took the shot I was focused on the big fluffy cloud and the tree tops.
When I uploaded the shot I noticed that the lamp post appears to be nodding to the cloud.

Looking At The Sky On Friday: Gray Can Be Pretty

I know I'm odd.
I like rainy days. I find them relaxing, much less pressure to be happy.
And I think gray skies and dark clouds can be lovely, especially over a busy intersection.

Do ya think there are enough traffic signals!?
