Looking At The Sky On Friday: Gray Can Be Pretty

I know I'm odd.
I like rainy days. I find them relaxing, much less pressure to be happy.
And I think gray skies and dark clouds can be lovely, especially over a busy intersection.

Do ya think there are enough traffic signals!?

The sky looks a bit threatening over NJ. This almost makes this a natural Sepia Scene...except the red lights make this picture real!

I've got to agree with Ralph, at first glance this looks like a sepia scene but then you look closer at the traffic lights and see some color coming through. Very cool effect!

I'll have some sort of sky picture up for tomorrow provided I don't pass out from the muscle relaxer I just took!

I like gray skies - it means the sun isn't blazing down at 100 degrees! Great picture!

It always amuses me to see so many traffic signals. I guess they want to be sure we don't miss that red light!

I live in the land of traffic signals so this is what normal looks like to me.. LOL!
I happen to love rainy days too & I don't mind grey skies as long as there are interesting clouds like the ones you have posted here.

Quite the commentary on our roadways!
I LOVE rainy skies and rainy days, so I don't think you're a bit odd (unless we both are..).
It's not even June and it was 99 degrees today. I'm ready to run to Seattle!

the cables and poles add to the confusion in the sky!

Hi Dianne! I enjoy a rainy day every once in a while, but I can't handle too many cloudy-rainy days in a row.
I do love your photo. Lisa

Indeed this is a threatening sky. I hope it didn't hinder your drive. It does make for a nice photo. There are lots of traffic lights. *LOL*

Great shot.

Thanks for playing! Have a beautiful weekend.

ralph - Sepia Skies! Mary should start another meme ;)

linda - I hope your back isn't out again! hugs

mommaW - I didn't notice the sepia until Ralph mentioned it

staci - it hasn't been hot here yet but yes, that's another reason to like the gray - I'm not a fan of heat

bobbie - it's one of those awful NJ intersections with jughandles and odd roads all spilling into each other

lily - the land of traffic signals - I like the way that sounds ;)

gracie - it has been cool here and for that I'm grateful - I do not do well in hot weather
I'm cranky enough naturally ;)

magiceye - I love that you see that!! it is what made me keep the shot which I took thru the windshield while the people in the car next to me gave me very odd looks

race - thank you :)

lisa - the weather has not been good to you lately - I'm sorry about that :)

tisha - the rain held off til I was home :)

Grey puts me in a sad mood. I don't know why. I need sun & blue sky :o)

That sound .. the WOOOOOF was me exhaling after inhaling deeply at the sight of that sky, those pink clouds ..

Did I ever tell you about the green/gray sky I painted that caused my instructor to fail me and my dad had to come to school (mom said she was done coming to school when I was in trouble when I graduated Jr High) and meet with the dean?

Hi Dianne, you make those drab skies look beautiful.
Now, which traffic light to do you obey? The ones I am seeing right now all appear to be red.
Happy Sky Looking, thank you for your visit and for your nice comment.

And so can rainy days :)

Grey and Rainy really CAN be beautiful....but I could do without the traffic signals and the cables!

"Much less pressure to be happy."

I hear you. I really do.

It's raining today. I don't mind. Got stuff to do inside (like work!)

Yep, that's just about enough traffic lights.
