Looking At The Sky On Friday: The Sun's Struggle

It was a gray day with on and off rain showers. Each time the rain stopped the sun would try to come out.

I love bare trees. There is so much drama and beauty in the way the branches reach and twist.

I love them too. And those last few leaves, clinging so tightly to the branches, struggle so hard to hold on.

I have learned to love the bare branches as well. But, I must admit that I love to see them leaf out again in the spring.

Lovely pic babe.

A few years back I was admiring a tree at the front of our house blowing about in very strong winds. It suddenly made a loud 'CRACK' and fell down missing me by inches.

I now admire from afar. Your pic is safer!

I like the bare branches because it means I am not hot in my business suit. They signify business comfort for me. I know an odd connection to bare branches.

If the branches are bare my body is not hot and musty in my suits.

Oh, look at that little seed pod or something or other dangling from the branch!

Dianne .. this is a true keeper ... from the dangling burr to the sundog/rainbow ... frame it!

I often think bare trees resemble a lace pattern, strange I know. I like how the sun is just shining through. ~ Calico Contemplations

What a great shot, Dianne, with the black branches and buildings against a brooding sky. Very Hitchcockesque! I love it. :)

The tree limbs seem to be an outstretched arm aiming for the limited sun upstairs. The mood may by gray, but even without much bright, the pale orb still gives us hope of a brighter day...

Until a few days ago, the sun was struggling here too. Unfortunately, November's clear skies come with cold weather. So if it'd cloudy where you are I imagine your weather must be a tad warmer than normal for this time of year.

Nice shot. Thanks for the visit!

There really is a bit of sinister to the beauty there isn't there?

That's an amazing scene I ever seen this past days.

Sun really wants to come out too, in times like this.

Enjoy!

What a beautiful photo. I love the composition too.

Have a great weekend.

Bare trees do give us a different perspective, The leaves hide the trees' inner selves, I suppose.

Not playing this week, but wanted to stop by. I always love to see your photos.

After you left the comment about loving bare trees on my blog, I started paying more attention to them. And I was reminded of the old saying, "My house having burned down, I can now see the stars." The bare branches let in the light when there's less light to let in -- as your photo so beautifully shows. Love the sun dog. What a treat. And I'm guessing by the little dangling pod ornament that the tree is a sycamore?

Yesterday I was watching the sun struggled to come out too, but it didn't make it for long either.
