Trees

"Give fools their gold, and knaves their power;
Let fortune's bubbles rise and fall;
Who sows a field, or trains a flower,
Or plants a tree, is more than all."

-- John Greenleaf Whittier

What a gorgeous shadow shot, Dianne!

I love the strong contrast of the beautiful bright shades of green, against the black shadows of the tree branches!

Wonderful quote!

I LOVE trees!

Have a super weekend, dear lady!

X to you and the gang!

That is so pretty!!! That grass looks like green carpet, it's so thick! And the black shadows of the branches across it look like veins of life. You can almost hear its heart beating...beautiful photo!

Great wintry shadows of leafless trees.

Love the bright green grass. Reminds me of a golf course, even though I've never played.

Nice poem. Ironic that his middle name is Greenleaf. ;-)

Have a fun weekend!

The well tended lawn would be no more than a green carpet without trees nearby - a monochrome rug that would be boring. The shadows from said tree allow for a feeling of depth that adds to the rich grass. Trees are wonderful additions to the lay of the land...oddly, I see a rake in that shadow even with nary a leaf about. Very cool!
