Having a Senior Moment
I know I left it around here somewhere.
I can smell it but I can't see it.
I can smell it but I can't see it.
That little two legged critter better not have put it in the trash.
I am old enough to be his great grand dog!
He needs to show some respect.
If the trash truck comes there's gonna be trouble ...
Wait! Why is crazy neighbor lady waving at me.
She's pointing.
She's like the paparazzi that one.
She's still pointing!

Oy! She's pointing at the fence. The ball is inside the gate.
How did I do that?
When did I do that?
I'm so embarrassed.
She better not blog about this

Driving Miss Doggie
I took this shot while sitting in Memorial Day Weekend traffic.
This sweetie was looking forward to getting to the shore.
There is a great new TV show called Dogs in the City that deals with a dog trainer and his experiences with dogs in need and their people. I wrote up the show Here on my wordy-ish blog

It's A Treat
Yo Mon Yogurt is a self serve frozen yogurt shop in Freehold, NJ that will soon be opening another store in Red Bank. When I first saw the signs covering the windows of the new location under construction I thought they might be offensive. A dog in dreads? When I went to the website I was treated to a slide show of all sorts of people and four footed friends in dreads and somehow it was lovely.
Yo Mon Yogurt offers a wide variety of flavors and toppings and the customer can create their own treat. Their slogan is ...

Which Way Should I Go? Which Way Should I Go?
I met Gizmo at the marina just before it started to rain. He and his extended family arrived in 2 cars. When the rain became heavy and we all decided to leave Gizmo couldn't decide who he wanted to go home with.
Gizmo is one of the most active dogs I have ever met. Even when standing still it seems as if his entire little body is moving.

Weekend Photo Trio
This is my cousin's dog Daisy. She's a good old girl with a bit of arthritis and a tendency to sit with her mouth open. She is lovable and loving and will kiss you a million times. She loves children and is incredibly gentle and patient.
Summer is a perfect time for outdoor birthday parties, bringing out the convertible, and playing in the yard. These shots were taken at the 1st Birthday of one of my granddaughter's friends. Yes, they have an amazing yard.
I just love the symmetry of these shadows.
Have a great weekend and Happy Father's Day to all the Dads and Grandads and Single Moms

"Come Back Human"
I was stopped at a light when a car pulled up along side and a young man got out of the back and crossed the street; my eyes were immediately drawn to the scene taking place in the car ...
Hey, where did he go?
"Bye-Bye"
I post this as homage to DARYL who posts wonderful animal pics each Saturday in her series called "Waiting Impatiently"
If you don't think NYers love their pups then check out her posts
Note: Kay mentioned in her comment that she was concerned that the dog was left alone in a closed car. He wasn't. The driver was in the car and had just pulled over at the red light to let out the passenger.

Puppy Pit Stop
I noticed this family at the marina last week. They had out of state plates and suitcases in the back so apparently they were stopping for a break during a road trip.
I love this dog's markings. He's like a little cow.

He seems to like the place, even his shadow appears happy
He was getting very excited as his people shredded turkey and filled a water bowl for him
He wanted to help
He was distracted from meal prep by a flock of gulls

Jack
My neighbor's granddog ...

Jack is one of my most favorite dogs. He's sweet and a bit quirky. He always barks to me whenever he sees me and often runs across the driveway and into the house the moment he sees my side door open.
We went through a spell where he wouldn't settle down until I had carried him around the yard showing him the bird feeder and the trees. Now he's satisfied with a lap and a hug.

A Good Boy
This is Samson ...

He owns my DIL's brother. He's a sweet, sweet boy who is incredibly well behaved. Here he is at my granddaughter's birthday party. He was surrounded by noise and running and all sorts of distractions and he just took it all in and hung out under the shady tree.
He is a Japanese breed called Shiba Inu. You can read about them HERE
I'm not much interested in pure breeds, I'm a mutt person but Samson is one of the best dogs I've ever met.

Weekend Photos
I took this shot right after a rain storm. It's the puddle that formed on the pool cover. It was windy and the ripples in the water distorted the fence around the deck.

WEEKEND REFLECTIONS
These 2 sweeties are neighbors.
This is Teddy Bear, now mostly called Bear since he got so big ...

that's my granddaughter Hope toddling around in the background. Dog is her new favorite word.
and this is Bear's "big" brother Snow ...

Camera Critters: Working Man's Best Friend
I was waiting to get out of the parking lot of a very crowded shopping center when I let a pickup truck move into the lane ahead of me. I got a wave of thanks and immediately noticed how good looking the driver was. He had that sexy Marlboro Man look and his truck said he was a contractor. Irresistible.
As we inched forward this sweetie appeared in the passenger side window ...

I took these a couple of days ago and intended to use them today and mention that you can see wonderful dogs every Saturday at DARYL’S PLACE. Her weekly 'Waiting Impatiently' posts are fantastic.
I just came from visiting her and she has a Shepherd posted too! I love little moments like that.
Hugs and Happy All Holidays to all the CAMERA CRITTERS out there and to the people they love.
apologies for the bit of blur, my windshield was foggy

Camera Critters: My Good Neighbor
This is Gunner, he lives across the street. He comes to the door when he sees me ...

Usually I wave and he wiggles his butt and we go about our day.
When his people are around he runs from the front door to the side door and comes outside.
I get a smile ...

And a hug ...

Gunner is wearing his Christmas collar. He left the price tag on in case he changes his mind and wants to return it. He's not to sure about the bells.

Camera Critters: A Good Neighbor
This is Gunner, he lives across the street and is a good neighbor.
He was watching the squirrels ...

Until he noticed me ...

Then he told everyone I was home.

Gunner's fur was shaved in places for some med tests. I didn't notice that when I first took the photos. He's fine and healthy, just some allergies and I think he's quite handsome even with his crazy haircut.
Gunner never barks when he see his friends, only strangers. When he's out in the yard he woofs once to catch my attention and then wags his tail - actually he shakes his rump - and then he waits for me to come pet him.
When he's ready to go inside he barks once and then sits at the side door waiting to be let in.
He is much better behaved than most of the human neighbors.
