It Takes a Village

Since the morning after Hurricane Sandy struck volunteers have been at all the area parks and waterfront sites throughout my area - and all along the Jersey Shore. Many are residents, many more come from all over - just to help.

It was really really cold this particular day but through the eyes of the fences I thought I'd share a bit of the area with you. Hopefully I'll get some photos of the workers when the weather is warmer.

All of the fencing was donated and put up by volunteers

Fence as Canvas

Nature appears to have arranged a display of the seasonal stages of a tree.

She's a good artist.

Cloud Collection

I took these between April and yesterday and noticed the common cloud theme.

I've looked at clouds from both sides now,
From up and down, and still somehow
It's cloud illusions i recall.
I really don't know clouds at all.

~ Joni Mitchell

At the town park

At the park in Brooklyn where I played as a child
Remarkably the same 50 years later

I took this at a red light and only saw a flash of white puff that I thought was a cloud
I was delighted to find it was two sweeties cuddling

Fences for Dummies

Although the sign has been there forever, the fence is a new addition to the bank at the shopping center ...

The lanes you see are for the drive-thru banking windows. The parking beyond is for the shopping center. There's plenty of parking for bank customers right by the door.

So although there is no reason to be crossing the drive-thru lanes the bank has decided to have a fence.

Cause folks just ain't too bright.

On the other side of the house I found a bonus shot ...

At the "T"

I love a white picket fence and a giant tree. Look how the sun shines on the tree top.

Like many towns across the country my town never expected to be home to so many people. People in cars. NJ is infamous for its dark roads and confusing signage.

The lovely fence and its leafy friend live at the end of a busy road. A "T" intersection where making a left can be tricky.

Originals - people who were born in the town - say this fence has been taken out several times over the years.

Hopefully little red reflections help

Fences and Reflections

These shots for Friday Fences were taken on a rainy day in late February. This spot is a series of patios that lead from the main street to a section of the marina ...

I was waiting in the parking lot for a prescription to be filled when I noticed the show going on in the plain old Walgreens window ...

It's The Journey That Matters

I was doing an errand in a town about 40 minutes south of me that I rarely visit. On the way home I made a wrong turn and became lost for a bit in the midst of streets with no names and dead ends.

Look what I found ...

Trio

At a nearby beach there are 3 fences between parking and the water.
