In The Thick Of It

This shrub hangs out by the driveway. I have no idea what it is. I just know I love it.

I posted a Black & White of this HERE - The World in Black and White is Dot's creation and I'm thrilled to be part of the team. If you're into B&W definitely check it out, there are some really talented photographers participating there.

That's a lovely close-up. I don't often have luck with close-ups of plants, but I keep trying :)

I love the colours - the yellow, but also the hint of green leaves and the purpley mulch, it looks lovely.

I will ask my mom what it's called. She was a horticulture major in school and she's always telling me the names of plants.

Lovely photo. :D

I'm not sure what the plant is either, but I love the contrast of the yellow & green with the purply background.

Like all foliage in the fall, the colors change to a beautiful champagne, on these leaves. Too bad they will be departing the shrub soon...

Dianne said...

ralph - that's what makes this shrub even more wonderful. It stays the same all year!! Isn't that cool?

Love the new photo blog. I'm totally gonna have to copy you and say i did it 150% because you did it.

God, i love Mia!! I want to snuggle her!

Dianne said...

mrs. french - thank you!!

etk - We could start a wave of copying and bad math!!
Mia is a sweetie. She loves to be scratched under the chin and then nips at you when she's done. She'll sleep right next to me and will even lean against me but if I touch her again she nips and leaves in a huff.

Sorry to solve the mystery but I think your plant is Variegated Japanese Euonymus (Euonymus japonicus). Love the color.

Dianne said...

digital - I Googled that, the pics look a lot like it except they're more white and green with less yellow and they don't mention NJ but they do mention PA which is close.
So it could be or maybe not LOL
how's that for keeping the mystery alive LOL
it most likely is or a variation
thanks for the info, I learned how to root cuttings for next spring which :)
