Camera Critters & Shadow Shots: Lunch Time for the Crows

I'm combining CAMERA CRITTERS and SHADOW SHOTS this week.

These crows visit each day. They come as a group and work their way lawn to lawn ending at this house which sits at the end of the road.

They eat their fill and bask in the sun - as does this wonderful tree.

Aren't crows fascinating? I think they're so smart. I also photographed crows this week. They are everywhere around here!

Great shadow of the tree on the house. I wonder of the crows even notice it. ;-)

I've always thought crows are creepy. I think it's something from childhood - maybe Hitchcock and the Birds. I have been trying to get a good pic of one though. :)
I love the shadow of the tree on the house! Enlarging the first one I thought the shadows of the bush on the left were pretty nifty too.

Lovely shots. I like crows, which is good because there are a lot of them around here. I'm feeling more hopeful about Spring because this week I've seen some other birds who have been scarce... blue jay and cardinal this morning and over the week a woodpecker and another little bird I can't name. Nice to see green. I'm so sick of snow.

Great shadows !

We have lots of crows where we live. They have learned to put a whole nut on the road for cars to run over the nut. Then the crow returns to pick up the cracked nut and eat what's inside.

Kat said...

Gattina said...

So they are holding a meeting at your home every day ? that must be quite noisy !

Lots of lovely shadows in those shots:-)

I always thought crows somewhat ominous until someone told me that they are nature's garbage men...they take the "trash" of the land. Now I look at them more fondly. No doubt that's what these guys are doing!

Janie said...

The crows seem to be enjoying lunch and socializing under your tree. Nice photo.

Reader Wil said...

Crows always work in flocks, amazing isn't it?! They can also work in couples for they are faithful to their partners. At least I was told so. Thank you for sharing.

Oh, the poop they could leave behind. *LOL*

Ohmygosh ... what a LOT of crows! We have some around here, but I seldom see more than 2-3 at a time. I like the way you combined these activities. I like multi-tasking myself.
Hugs and blessings,

I should imagine things get a bit noisy at your place. Love the tree shadow against the house, beautiful!

AppleDebbie said...

What a great way to combine Camera Critters with Shadow Shots! Thanks for sharing your wonderful photos.

Manz said...

Great idea to combine the 2 memes - the bottom photo is fantastic due to the shadows you captured - that is, in my opinion ;)

It's interesting. You don't need to see any more of the actual tree, because the shadow tells so much.

I think this may be my 3rd time visiting your cc - I know I'll be coming back for more.

And thanks for dropping by my cc post for the week - it was good to see you again.
