Looking At The Sky On Friday: Stormy Weather

I took these shots a couple of weeks ago during one of those days that starts out warm and sunny and then the wind begins to blow and the temperature drops and winter digs her heels in.

All the photos were taken within a few minutes from the parking lot of a large shopping center.

LOOKING AT THE SKY ON FRIDAY

Hi Dianne, those are nice clouds. Some look a little mean. I was thinking of once when I was in a parking lot in New Hampshire and the skies looked similar to yours.
When I came out of the store, the prettiest snow was coming down. It had whitened the whole parking lot while I was in.
Happy Sky Looking, come peek at our lake 'from the car.'

Those clouds are amazing! It is amazing to see how quickly they can come in.

Wow, couldja send some of that rain here? We're desperate for some here in SW Florida.

Happy Friday!

jim - we did get some wet snow later that afternoon but then it turned to freezing rain which isn't so nice :)

anna - they just kept getting darker and bigger - a lot of people were looking up - plus the wind picked up - it was kind of ominous yet fascinating

tink - I wish we could - wouldn't it be nice if the planet was more balanced

cathy - thanks, it really was a great sight, I'm glad to share :)

magiceye - thanks!! my son used to call it angry skies

jackie - it was doing its best to swallow up every bit of fluffy cloud and block out all the light -
bobbie - I know!! I felt like a storm chaser ;)

daryl - me too!! even after I took the photos I just stood there and watched for a bit, it was amazing how quickly they moved and changed

I'm with Tink - only send it to California!
You're like me - we grabbed a bite to eat the other night and the clouds were really acting up. I took a couple of shots and then we went across the mall to pickup some bird food. I think I took 2-3 photos in the car and then several more in the parking lot! The clouds change with every moment and it's just darned hard to quit clicking!

seing that the shopping center is called 'Airport plaza' I figure it is the ever lovely Newark Airport that is nearby. The approach to landing must be rough as they dip through the clouds. A treat for our eyes on the ground, although no treat on board...

A great series, Dianne! I can feel the cold air gathering under the darkening clouds.

It still looks like winter in the skies. Cold and blustery = March. My fingers are crossed for sun next week. No wait! For sun today! ;-)

Hi Dianne! Beautiful pictures, but I hate days like this. When that winds starts, the damp chill gets in the bones. Lisa

Beautiful shots, although, the whole cold and freezing rain thing that comes from those clouds aren't so great. :-)

I never cease to be amazed at how dramatically the sky can change from moment to moment around here too. Marvelous series for Sky Watch. Sorry to be visiting so late, but I've been ill and haven't done much of anything for a week or so. I'm doing what I can to catch up today.
Hugs and blessings,

There is some brightness back behind the darkness. It will come out, eventually! Beautiful shots.

Thank you for playing along.
